@kiernan-laveaux is a boundless ball of chaos energy - an adventurous spirit, conducting the binary dissolving forces of our world that are reflected & transmuted through the unbridled passion contained within her DJing. The Cleveland artist's mission is "to channel love and understanding to dancers of open mind and spirit everywhere." Since 2014, her ethos of community building, personal autonomy, & transportative psychedelia has grown to encompass the multiversal creators of possible worlds everywhere, the In Training, Heaven is in You, & Disco Paradiso parties that traversed the wormhole of limitless expression & jouissance together in Cleveland from 2014-2018, & the Motherbeat raves that continue to manifest sporadically throughout our known universe. The music she plays is impossible to pin down in genre terms, but is unified by it's restless sense of ecstatic momentum, dissonant euphoria, & kinetic exuberance.

Her 80-minute mix for us this week is jam-packed with a little bit of everything, from peak time and head melting techno to heavenly electronics and Earth moving beats. Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:
Be yourself and do your best to let go of "perfection", it just does not exist. Ride the rhythm not the cue mark. Practice with any two records and/or tracks. Play YOUR beat in the mix, your friendships and with life in general. Less surrender to being salty may not be so cool these days but it will welcome a more patient attitude with yourself and help those that you love.

here's a recording of my set from The White Hotel in Manchester, Feb 2018 - i was closing from 5-7am after a bumpy Lena Willikens set. it was my 2nd gig of the night and my 4th in 3 days, there's a few sketchy transitions but the vibe was great so who cares.

it's definitely pretty peak time, with a few twists and turns in there too - also loads of fresh music which you might hear more of later in the year...!

livwutang is the alias of rising Seattle-based DJ and artist Olivia Klutse. Moving to the city from Denver in 2014, she has quickly become an integral and vital member of Seattle’s underground music community, forming numerous friendships and helping organize events for a number of the city’s budding parties. Truancy Volume 271 sees livwutang put together a mix inspired by dusk window views, coastal road trips, and long meandering walks around south Seattle. She tells us the mix is a reflection of her state of mind and the transitional Seattle weather at the moment, sprinkling in subtle moments of euphoria and ascending atmospheres to joyous effect. From Aybee’s rhythm-shifting “Broken Dreams,” to last year’s relentless party starter “Belter” by Off The Meds, the mix is 70 minutes of uninterrupted vibes, coming to a spine-tingling conclusion with Rum & Black’s 90s rave classic “Slaves.” The selections are immaculate, mixed craftily by a DJ that’s become beloved both at home and shores abroad.
