These are some recordings of me during my performance degree. They're all solo pieces, and I'd avoid calling them classical music, instead I think 20th century art music would be a more appropriate descriptor.
"Wings" was written by Joan Tower and is without time or key signature.
"Sonate" was written by Jeanine Rueff and is highly atonal, and instead of common practice period tonality utilizes serialism and other chromatic harmony techniques.

Sonate (II) (Senior Recital, October 31, 2007)

At the beginning of the last decade we dropped a mix called 01012010. We were new DJs and wanted to put our vision for what Grime could become on the map. That year we launched the Butterz label and club nights and it started a crazy journey we are still on now. We've been working on projects away from DJing recently, but as of 01012020 we are back on the decks. This is the first of 10 studio mixes from us this year. This is our mix to kick off the new decade. Come with us..

Rockwell returns to his Obsolete Medium imprint for its third release - “Isolation Ritual”. Featuring the distorted crescendos and dissonant echoes of the Alix Perez supported track ‘Vent’, and ‘Ditch’ - a pulsating and dub-siren heavy collaboration with the man of the moment, Workforce. 

“ ’Isolation Ritual’ was borne out of me examining the relationship between my writing practices and my life outside music. For years I would shut myself away from the world in my windowless studio, concentrating on making music. It became normal for me to spend long periods by myself, isolated from the world outside and my friends and family. Over many years I became increasingly withdrawn and detached and struggled for objectivity. Tasks that would normally take an hour were taking days, as I was constantly second-guessing myself. My output ground to a halt.  

Making changes to both my creative process and the relationship I have with my music has been massively beneficial to my productivity and also to my wider mental health. Music is starting to flow again naturally. It is a slow process to unlearn years of bad habits, but hopefully ‘Isolation Ritual’ is a step in the right direction.”

One of the most exhilarating talents to come out fo the drum and bass scene in recent times, Rockwell has been heralded by the likes of Billboard, FACT, RA, Mixmag, CRACK and DJ Mag. He has released on some of the biggest and most revered labels in the game - Metalheadz, Critical, Shogun Audio Neosignal and Darkestral - and collaborated with a range of artists including Roni Size, Flowdan, Sam Binga and Breakage.

A past alumnus of both Radio 1’s Residency and ‘In New DJ’s We Trust’’, his debut album ‘Obsolete Medium’ was released on Shogun Audio in 2015 to critical acclaim, with Billboard selecting it as one of their top 10 Electronic LP’s of the year. 

2020 sees Rockwell continue on his mission, undertaking further sonic explorations with his label OBSOLETE MEDIUM.

Unglued’s reputation for producing serious bassweight across the D+B spectrum continues in 2020 with his ‘Zen’ EP. He spans through silky smooth sounds on ‘Zen’ ft. Cimone, bouncy funk on ‘Mic Strangler’ with the legendary MC GQ, sharp-edged grizzle on GLXY collaboration ‘Algorithm’, and tearout heat on the soundsystem slayer ‘Datafile’.

Setting things in motion is the lyrical weapon ‘Mic Strangler’, with OG host and MC extraordinaire GQ, who’s spent three decades leading the game. Unglued deals out damage on the beat with MC GQ’s playful twists, wrapped up in a big bruiser of a bassline.

Title track ‘Zen’ is a mesmeric stream of atmospherics, rolled out in perfect tandem with the angelic vocals of rising singer/songwriter, Cimone. GLXY joins the fold for ‘Algorithm’ - a techy rattler that’s stripped back in design but packs a punch. Rounding off the EP is the darkest addition, ‘Datafile’, Unglued takes no prisoners as he unleashes this lethal stepper.

Unglued has had a steep and steady rise in drum & bass after signing to Hospital Records and releasing his sought after solo material, as well as his iconic remix of High Contrast’s anthem ‘If We Ever’. This infamous rewiring caught the attention of major players, from Andy C to Annie Mac - who also selected his track ‘Born In ‘94’ as her Hottest Record in 2019 on BBC Radio 1.

Unglued’s jungle knowledge has him in regular international demand, in 2019 alone he tore up sets at Glastonbury, Rampage, Boomtown, Let It Roll, ADE and on Med School’s final tour across Australia and New Zealand. He’s showing no signs of slowing down in 2020 with back-to-back bookings, including support at Wilkinson’s London headline show, Kings Of The Rollers’ Printworks Royal Rumble showdown and Hospitality On The Beach 2020.

Baud [Optics] (Alex Jones) is a musician by birth. Being raised by classically trained musicians he started playing piano at age 5. Later he picked up the saxophone and has been playing ever since. After completing his saxophone performance degree at the Moore's School of Music at the University of Houston, he started playing with DJs and spoken word poetry. In 2009 he began DJing, learning the intricacies of the craft and refining his abilities and ear for playing saxophone with DJs. He is now a full time DJ/sax player and live sound/visuals engineer living in Houston, TX.
