Introducing a fresh mix in our signature series "Riddim Chronics". The author of the new episode is a talented musician and a vibrant DJ from Tallinn, Maxim Adel, known in the dubstep scene as @bisweed.

Maxim had his first vinyl release back in 2009 on London's Smokin 'Sessions label, after which he released at least 6 vinyl releases and several digital tracks. Among them is the deep and atmospheric "Northern City" tune that featured on our Ultimate Campilation Vol. 2 earlier this year. The music of Bisweed has been used many times by the Estonian National Ballet and Estonian Television. Bisweed's sound is influenced by an extensive list of musical genres, including jazz, soul, R&B, reggae and classical music. This musical palette can be clearly seen in the presented mix, where the main motive for combining the tracks was the tempo of 140 beats and the focus on the low frequencies. DJing performed by Bisweed deserves a special mention. This is a real performance filled with dynamics, tricks and emotions. It is this kind of DJing that can be called "playful", when the Dj does not just "play tracks", but presents the music in an original and creative manner, passing it through himself, playing with it. Bisweed hosts a regular radio show Dubshack on Estonian Raadio2 with like-minded people, and also teaches DJing and music production at the Gustav Adolfi Muusikakool school.

This issue of "Riddim Chronics" is packed with exclusive unreleased material from both the author and other producers (a tracklist for the afflicted is attached) and is a gorgeous example of how versatile and unpredictable the dubstep scene is today. Juicy and energetic, jazzy and underground, with swing and dense textures - we are sure that this musical journey of an hour will give you a lot of emotions.

On our 7th release we are proud to represent to the world young gifted producer hailing from Perm (Russia) by the name of Ninety (@ninetyxxxxxxxxx). From his very first "Ambi EP" in the beginning of 2020 on the Moscow based label UNITED (@united_gang) it became clear that a new talent appeared on the dubstep scene, which will bring a lot of joy to connoisseurs of the genre.

On four tracks of the "Shaker EP" artist demonstrates the versatility of his sound and the extraordinary ability to create a deep, mystic atmosphere. The EP starts with a trippy sound of the "Moon Sand" which envelopes you with a sci-fi and drone sounds skillfully combined with melodic strings and synths. The track hypnotically pulls you like a quicksand into the wilds of the underworld. On the "Knife Dance" unleashed bass doing his dance ting until pitched heavy synth stabs builds their own lead line. The title track sounds like it should - an earthquake with a seething bass with enough space for a skankers. The closing tune "Ghasty" endows you with a catchy melody that sticks for a long time. The artist's talent to develop the tracks worth mentioning separately - the second drop on each track of the EP opens up a new depth and edges of the sound. With this release, Ninety is confidently ending 2020 as one of the most promising newcomers to the dubstep scene.
