Here comes the first installment from Principles Of Geometry's upcoming album Meanstream. The song that probably best summarises what Meanstream is about. Lush synths that sets your mind on a Michael Mann movie set, amazing beats somewhere between hip hop, electronica and Peter Gabriel, and the voice of the Alessi Brothers, the legendary twins from the 70s/80s, author of classics such as Oh Lory or Seabird (check Metronomy Late Nite Tales compilation).
Remixes come courtesy of Tanner Ross, one of our favorite member of the Wolf+Lamb & Soul Clap crews + Night Slugs head honcho (and ghetto house producer as Dance System) L-Vis 1990.

Highly regarded soundsmith ISOLÉE is well-known for his prowess when it comes to indie-infused, minimalist house with a catchy twist - just think of his timeless masterpiece "Beau Mot Plage" and its visionary blend of genres. His rework of the bass-laden, atmospheric WE MIX AT SIX is no different, steaming down the sophisticated textures of the original and soaking the resulting concentrate in a stirring bounce. Internationally acclaimed producer ULRICH SCHNAUSS has a similar knack for transcending electronica and brings his expertise in ethereal soundscapes to a surprisingly throbbing, pop-instilled, decidedly epic version of KRONSEE. Brooklyn/LA-based housetronics wizard PORTABLE SUNSETS rounds off this batch of carefully minted remixes with his take on NUEVA CANCION, turning its warm, organic hum into pure rythmatic poetry.

Much like the colourful cobbled streets and lush rolling hills of his hometown of Tbilisi, Georgian-native Gacha Bakradze’s music is characteristically rich, distinct, and seductive. With his previous releases on the iconic Apollo Records praised by Pitchfork and Resident Advisor, Gacha is a stalwart of the Georgian electronic scene. Previously featured on ‘Anjunadeep Explorations 02’ in 2016, Gacha now returns with his upcoming EP - ‘Restless’.

From his nuanced command of subtle arpeggio plucks, to his careful construction of sensuous atmospheres, ‘Restless’ epitomises Gacha’s in-depth musical knowledge and production skills.

Title track ‘Restless’ is a journey through syncopated sixteenths and reverberated jungle sounds, where bongos echo off a grooving sub bass. ‘Image’ is lustrous and bright, accentuating a well-rounded bassline alongside celestial plucks. The Earth Trax remixes introduce a lo-fi aesthetic, taking it back to the old school with wide sampled breaks and 303 synthlines.

The final track, ‘Contactless’, is a Balearic ballad, its meloduious arpeggios and dark drones reminiscent of retro 80’s soundtracks, deep dreams, and early-morning walks home. ‘Restless’ is released on both digital and vinyl, Friday, 29th July.

'LANDLOPER' is Little People’s first release since 2015, where he returns with an album that is both beautiful and complex – much like the journey it took to release it.

In 2014, Laurent Clerc – aka Little People – decided to move to Portland, OR to allow himself to concentrate on writing new music. Laurent spent a fruitful year in Oregon, drawing inspiration from the wild beauty of the Pacific North West. Shortly after his move, a new EP and a successful 6-week North American tour opening for Odesza followed. It’s around this time that the first sketches of 'LANDLOPER' started to take shape.

For Laurent making music is all about the process – each sound used on his latest album were created with a technical idea in mind. Either with a modular synthesizer or using digital means, Laurent draws inspiration from the set of tools at his disposal. Electronic music is a giant playground to explore and tinker with. The new album has a warmth and lofi aesthetic that is at odds with Laurent’s meticulous nature – but everything has been crafted to be deliberately just so. Constantly looking to add imperfections to beautiful sounds – rendering them more abrasive and alive. There are contrasts between the lush string quartet arrangements and off kilter angular beats, with subtle details in each track which co-exist alongside broader melodic themes. The music on 'LANDLOPER' travels through a number of sonic palettes, borrowing elements from different sub-genres to eventually form a cohesive whole.

Laurent worked with a number of collaborators this time round – expanding beyond just instrumental works. Whilst in Portland he worked with Reva Devito (HW&W Recordings) whose vocals were chopped and re-purposed – providing a vocal thread throughout the whole album. Laurent also collaborated with Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne (Hejira, Matthew Herbert, Floating Points) making up three key songs on the album. The lead single track Skies Turn Blue which features Tif Lamson (GIVERS) was an effortless collaboration between 2 very different artists.

Little People - Skies Turn Blue (feat. Tif Lamson)

After hearing Vagabon's mellow house inspired "Water Me Down", I was driven to remix it as a deep/tech house vibe mover. Taking some vocal chops and finger snaps, the darkwaters remix is a full rebuild around those two core elements, adding new drums, synths, patterns and melodies. This track walks the line of something entirely new, but due to Vagabon's lyrics and voice, I wanted to keep this labeled as a remix.
