Breakbeat Paradise Recordings

Mr Bristow has become a household name on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings and is now back to drop his third solo EP - Drunk On Funk. This time around he’s brought along a harder ghetto funk sound, which has attracted some of the very best producers in the scene for remix duties. Ghetto Funk darling B-Side, J-Sound of Scour Records, DJ Clairvo (one half of Jack Lemmon and Nynfus Corp) and veteran funkster Jazz.K.Lipa.

Vocal duties are performed by Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Phil Ramocon, who has worked with icons including Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Gregory Issac, Cher and Neneh Cherry.  Together with Mr Bristow, a huge ghetto funk anthem has been crafted, with a feel good vibe of getting drunk on funk and partying all night long!

B-Side gets busy and does what he does best on his home turf with a huge bass line and catchy party rocking beats, which leaves us longing for more. Luckily he’s gonna be back on Breakbeat Paradise in the near future to drop a full 4-track EP. 
J-Sound slows it down a bit and blends some sweet piano hooks and big boogie bass lines. Just like the vocals call for, this remix has that feel good vibe and cool funky grooves. 

Dj Clairvo brings it down an extra notch on his laidback remix with a hip hop twist and some Latin vibes.

Finally Jazz.K.Lipa returns to the label with some fresh moombaton flavours to end the EP right where it started – on the dance floor.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is very pound to finally introduce the very first release from UK-based ghetto funk darlings: Phibes. The funky duo has been dropping countless free party bombs as well as making appearances on multi-artist compilations on labels like Tru-Funk, Hustle Audio, Scour Records and right here on BBP.

After perfecting their sound they are now locked and loaded to drop a straight-up party rocking Ghetto Beats Vol. 1 EP with 4 golden ghetto funk bangers. Phibes has gone back to find some of the very best they could get their hand on from the treasure chest of funk and soul. By infusing their signature bass-driven funky breaks treatment they’ve managed to make all these jams their own. From the big groves of the Who’s That to the classic soul hook of the Hold On banger over the big bass drops of On Time before ending things with the undeniably funky Pump It jam.

No doubt the Phibes brothers are on their way to big things, with original EPs in the making for labels like Adapted and Electroshok. We hope to be bringing you much more funky goodies from these guys in the near future.

Illgorhythms - Fire Sound Feat. Richard Smithson

Ken is blasting into the scene with an instant classic funky joint called Closer To The Sun, and is being accompanied by veteran established names on remix duties. US-based Ken has a good ear for chilled funky hooks and has cooked up a perfect example on the title tune on this EP.

Good friend and partner producers from discObeta is taking it further down the chilled path with their down tempo trippy mix which will be sure to please your ear. discObeta has featured on multiple compilations and remixes as well as dropped the Chinese Robots EP right here on BBP.

Legendary electro disco funk producer from New York Ursula 1000 also adds his signature treatment to the Closer To The Sun jam by adding some catchy electro synth and beats to keep the trippy vibes going strong.

German producer-duo Mined & Forrest takes the track to the dancefloor by applying a well-arranged midtempo groove and some ghetto funk beats. The track is spiced up with a good doze of catch vocal samples for the ghetto funkers.

Last but not least we invited Australian bass producer Bezwun who cooked up a smooth housy bass mix to keep the party rocking well into the night. 

Lots of diversity and twists on a classic original joint on this EP to keep things funky as always – right here on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings.

Hailing from the North East (U.S.), lifelong friends and collaborators of discObeta, KEN is a seasoned musician and songwriter. There are rumors that KEN also works with well know downtempo artists holding duties as a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and engineer. Not much more is known about this multi-talented artist... and he likes it that way. KEN has had his share of label deals, brushes with famous artists and has a unique relationship with the backbone of one the greatest bands in the world. Where the many desperately seek the limelight, this stoic artist strays away from it and would rather relish in the wash of melody, beats and the exotic. Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music!
