As Breakbeat Paradise Recordings continue on the endless journey of discoveries within the funky sounds of the breaks we came across a special style of bassy glitch funk from Canadian producer FunkinRight. On this debut 4-track EP called Bring The Funk we are seeing FunkinRight doing just that with a sweet organic electronic funk with bold heavy basslines and steady rocking beats alone with some clever sampling into the classic breaks goldmine – twisted in brand new way.

FunkinRight is no stranger to the funky breaks DJ scene of the western Canadian circuit where he’s brought his funky styles to festivals like Curiosity, FozzyFest, Freezerburn, Vibrant and shared stages with funky DJs/Producer like: Askillz, Featurecast, Father Funk, JFB, Megan Hamilton, Phibes, WBBL, Woofax and more.

The EP is featuring 3 originals joints from FunkinRight that fully showcases his unique type of funy bass music. In addition to this another fellow Calgary-based producer Sonek who is known for his releases on V.I.M.Breaks & Diesel Recordings is featuring on the Work track that finished up this EP.

From the creative mind of Qdup, his new Party Platters series is serving up hot, fresh artisan beats for the dance floor. We’ve been cooking it all up with soul, so leave any bad vibes a preconceived notions of tempos and genres behind and dig into the delicious flavor.

Qdup is flying high into 2019 after continuing his string of original singles on Washington, DC’s Fort Knox Recordings. He also found himself engineering and producing a Vocal Sample Pack along with conscious party MC EVeryman that was released earlier in 2019 with Canada’s Black Octopus Sound. His DJ touring kept him busy last year including DJ sets at Shamhala Music Festival & Bass Coast (Four Deck Set with Fort Knox Five), Motion Notion and Joshua Tree Music Festival (DJ Performance with EVeryman). 2019 looks to be a good year as Qdup has been hard at work cooking up new beats to bring to you. 

First up for Party Platters Vol. 1, “Love Rap Thang” is a strong Disco Break that is like a 70’s Soul Train Line and a classic Hip Hop MC got together and made a love child. Qdup’s beats and bass marry the classic party rap vibe with new school production prowess that really hits a sound system right. This will get the party moving! As the name suggests, “Funk Over Here” has all the funk in the trunk to make the bass bins bump. It’s infectious bass line and call and response vocal chants will have the dance floor saying “Hell Yeah”. Pure vibes! Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .

We will devote ourselves to deliver the phattest, funkiest and the biggest grooves to be found out there...
