With now their second full release though Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, Mined & Forrest have delivered an awesome array of breaks and beat, as well as bringing in remixes from Funkanizer and Blockboy.

’Coming Through’ is a low tempo funky roller, loaded with vocals stabs, guitar riffs, a flowing bassline, and even a nice violin section to boot…
The second track brings in some heaviness. ’Rock on’ gets the big boy treatment, with punchy beats and synths followed by a big wobble bass to bring it all together.

For the third track, Mined & Forrest join forces with LAWN, Stephanie Lottermoser and Eve Lamell, for a smoooooth, atmospheric, bass heavy lounger called ‘I Would Fall’. The hypnotic vocals take you on a journey of delight, progressing through sumptuous sounds, and a sax to die for, with it all culminating in a musical voyage of live and electronic instruments.

Now… Funkanizer… This guy has brought the funk with his fantastic remix of ’Funk Toxic’. Snappy snares, a deep rolling bassline, as some switch-ups all come together to get those feet moving.

The final track on the already funkin’ release, sees Blockboy put his touch to the sweet ‘I Would Fall’, and you can definitely here his hip-hop roots. Starting nicely, with a downtempo feel, this track finishes with big wobble bass, taking you by surprise, and wanting more

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back to drop another debut EP from the German producer duo Mined & Forrest consisting of Forrest Funk & Mined from Obba Select. They are both well-established names on their own with a large group of followers – known for their edits, mashups and funky DJ sets.

Inspired by classic funk, modern bass design and hiphop sampling they teamed up to bring their musical ideas together. Spending lots of time in the studio turning knobs and hitting keys, they now have a bunch of funky tunes ready to hit the dancefloors out there.

The EP kicks off with the groovy and catching title tune There It Is, which perfectly showcases their take on the ghetto funk sound. A steady beat with some clever hip hop samples and a great deal of musicality including a big middle passage of beautiful atmospheric sounds.  

On the next cut the duo takes us a little further back to the oldskool on the Funk Toxic banger. Toxic funky bass on a boom bap beat mixed with their chopped up hip hop vocal samples. 

Things are about to get serious on the 3rd jam on the EP which features Joker on the bass heavy Drugs tune. Heavy beats and big basslines is in center on this bad boy jam.

Ken is blasting into the scene with an instant classic funky joint called Closer To The Sun, and is being accompanied by veteran established names on remix duties. US-based Ken has a good ear for chilled funky hooks and has cooked up a perfect example on the title tune on this EP.

Good friend and partner producers from discObeta is taking it further down the chilled path with their down tempo trippy mix which will be sure to please your ear. discObeta has featured on multiple compilations and remixes as well as dropped the Chinese Robots EP right here on BBP.

Legendary electro disco funk producer from New York Ursula 1000 also adds his signature treatment to the Closer To The Sun jam by adding some catchy electro synth and beats to keep the trippy vibes going strong.

German producer-duo Mined & Forrest takes the track to the dancefloor by applying a well-arranged midtempo groove and some ghetto funk beats. The track is spiced up with a good doze of catch vocal samples for the ghetto funkers.

Last but not least we invited Australian bass producer Bezwun who cooked up a smooth housy bass mix to keep the party rocking well into the night.

There are rumors that KEN also works with well know downtempo artists holding duties as a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and engineer. Not much more is known about this multi-talented artist... and he likes it that way. KEN has had his share of label deals, brushes with famous artists and has a unique relationship with the backbone of one the greatest bands in the world. Where the many desperately seek the limelight, this stoic artist strays away from it and would rather relish in the wash of melody, beats and the exotic. Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .

We will devote ourselves to deliver the phattest, funkiest and the biggest grooves to be found out there...
