Relative Dimensions kick off 2017 with a massive bang. In 1998 Air gave us the amazing moon safari album.
In 2017 it's been given a remix of huge proportions. We kick off with JPrimes reworking of 'Ce Matin La', heavy drums, base that'll make granny get out of the rocking chair, and a heavy slice of PE thrown in.
Up next is Leygo and his rework of the classic 'Kelly Watch the stars'. A mellow house huge dancefloor chugger that remains sympathetic to the original.
Then, who else than Monstafunk. When Air made 'Sexy Boy' little did they know that one of the best remixers in the game would drop lyrics on top of it about pussy, ass, and weed. All trademarks of the genius that is Monstafunk.
Lastly, Vinyl Messi takes 'All I need', picks it up, gives it a shake, and gives it a DnB flavour that would make even the most dour Parisian get on the dancefloor.
Moon Safari Remixed is a modern day classic.

Bombstrikes continues to expand its musical horizons via their growing series of expertly curated compilation albums with this, the first volume of Disco Funkin'. For a label so at home in all things Funk related, it was always going to be something special when they added Disco to their focus whilst of course keeping the funk very much at the core. And who better to curate the first album than the fast rising stars Shaka Loves You. Having gained the Craig Charles seal or approval on air many times and also supporting legends such as the Jacksons and The Sugarhill Gang, the Glasgow duo have already shown their pedigree for such music. As recent releases from the Shaka boys show, they are carving out their own sound within the scene and always deliver music of the highest quality.

The duo's skills at seeking out killer grooves are very much on show here with the album's track listing reading like a 'who's who' of the scene. Avoiding the obvious route and disco cliches, the pair have assembled an exquisite range of music spanning across many elements of forward thinking disco and funk. Featuring a selection of album exclusives including new material from the boys them selves, there are also some stone cold classics and new discoveries from the likes of Dimitri From Paris, The Reflex, Kraak & Smaak, Lack of Afro and Sebastian. Further highlighting how the compilation has such a high calibre of artists and a diverse take on the sound is shown by the inclusion of not one, but two members of legendary Hip Hop group Jurrassic 5, in the form of Chali 2na and Fullee Love (Aka Soup).
There is more than enough music here for both the most ardent disco fan but also the more casual listener as well. If the track listing wasn't enough already there is also a DJ mix of the album to take the listenor on a journey and keep things grooving. This is a heavyweight compilation and sets the bar extremely high for what is follow!

Last December saw Omegaman release the Lovers Rocksteady EP just in time for Australian Summer fun in the sun.  The EP featured all Australian vocalists and was a big hit on the radio waves and beaches around the world.  Omegaman got some of those tracks remixed and has included the instrumental versions of the original tracks as well, available for the first time. 

Omegaman tapped a range of producers from around the globe for these remixes, including Lakeshore Drive from British Columbia, Canada.  Lakeshore Drive added some funky beats and breaks, and a nice skankin' guitar line to Forever You & Me featuring Courtney Rachel.  This laid back summer anthem now has some dancefloor legs, so don't be surprised if you see the lovers start moving and grooving.  The Swiss mad beat scientist PulpFusion has remixed Fly featuring vocals by Isis Ashton & Alpha Mama.  PulpFusion has added real depth with a lush soundscape of strings, piano and very smooth percussion. He has transformed a very light reggae-pop song into a deeper, more thoughtful downtempo groove track, wow!

Clocking in from Mannheim, Germany is Freethinker Funk Essence who also got to remix Forever You & Me, who also funked up the track into a more robust dance tune.  Freethinker Funk Essence has really pumped up the horns, beefed up the breaks and even added a percussion breakdown in the middle.  The result is a fun and lively reggae funk tune that will also work well at pool parties and beach gatherings.  Rounding out the release is Sydney based house music DJ and producer Kris Ramea, who remixed There She Goes featuring C Major.  He has added a very suave 6am house beat, accentuating piano lines, a big build in the middle and a nice house workout in the second half. 

In addition to these four great remixes, this release includes the remix instrumentals and the unreleased instrumental mixes of the original five tracks released on the Rocksteady EP.  Omegaman has been working hard and cranking out new material, and once again delivers the sounds of Aussie Summer just in time for all the heads.  Peter Metro of MetroCo has done the artwork for Omegaman once again, and his designs really capture the vibe of this release.

Founded by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE) in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .
