In March of this year we saw Jimpster’s Porchlight And Rocking Chairs LP fall on expectant and eager ears, winning praise from the likes of RA, DJ Mag and Groove as well as plays and support from a host of the worlds best radio and club DJ’s. With the majority of the LP being more home listening than club-focused we decided to call in some of our favorite producers to rework a track of their choice for the dance-floors and here we present you the first part of the amazing results.

KiNK needs little introduction of course, except to say that his live set as well as his hands on hardware approach in the studio has seen him become established as one of the most exciting producers of the last couple of years. When he agreed to remix Porchlight And Rocking Chairs (a track he incidentally referred to as his favorite of the year!) we couldn’t have been happier and knew that something very special would come from it. When he got in touch to say he’d done a version but explained it was done live in one take with all the parts being tweaked in real time making it very hard to change anything we were even more intrigued and excited. As expected, what he delivered is an intense, high energy reworking full of piercing high’s and rattling lows, keeping the original chords and many of the keyboard lines in place but injecting a raw drive and improvised feel which has already seen it become a highlight of Jimpster sets this summer.

Andre Lodemann provides the perfect antidote to KiNK’s frenetic version in the form of his Towards The Seer Remix, going for a tight, emotive, late night groove which develops slowly, teasing out the arrangement and keeping things sublime and understated. Subtle bass twists and dubbed out FX build to the extended break where we’re introduced to the original’s acoustic bass riff in all it’s glory. Another brilliant Andre Lodemann production.

Jimpster - Porchlight And Rocking Chairs (KiNK Remix) [Freerange] (96Kbps)

Up and coming South African artist, DJ Beekay debuts on MoBlack Records, showcasing sheer talent and the pervasive allure of Afro House. Starting off, the DJ/Producer brings in Lyrik Shoxen on vocals, to deliver a potent title track that marries earthy instrumentals and sublime electronic modulations. Keeping Shoxen’s effusive lyrics and poignant rasp at the crux, “BlackOut” capers along silvery melodies and robust thrusts of beats, emanating reprieve at the other end of darkness. “Beat Autopsy” wraps up MBR473 with an introspective journey that can move the body from within. Dovetailing  Afro rhythms and ethereal synth riffs, this lasting finale traverses the path of infinite vibrations, obscuring the frontiers of end and beginning.

Up next on MoBlack Records, the label welcomes an up and coming innovator from Spain. A spectacle on and off decks, DJ/producer Adrian Roman's adeptness in setting the mood gleams through 'Infinito.' The potent two-tracker starts off with the vigorous title track - a consortium of robust drum beats, penetrating rhythms and chimerical electronic syntaxes. A nocturnal macrocosm of scintillating sound patterns, "Infinito" is a multi-dimensional labyrinth of continual motion. An immersive spatial journey wraps up MBR475. Vitalized by pervasive drumming, and further innervated by incisive inflections, "Ray Geometry" is a dynamic cerebral experience that aligns kinetic energy and introspective ideation.

Part of Rick Pier O'Neil & Desaturate's debut EP for Particles in September 2015, "Spirals" was a twin-track tour de force that fully illustrated the French and Serbian producers signature sound. As Yin : Yang now return to the duo's work, the title track is given a 2017 rework courtesy of Hungarian and German icons.

Under his East Cafe moniker, Hungarian producer Gabor Kaszas needs little introduction to the underground dance faithful. An artist who has shaped the progressive genre with a distinctive sound that lit up the house and breaks scene in the mid 2000s, a debut for fellow countryman Retroid and his Morphosis has paved the way for almost 500 production credits to sit proudly next to the East Cafe name. Mistique, Silk Digital and Particles have all played their part in developing an artist who continues to command respect and widespread approval from peers and fans alike. Indeed, support from such celebrated quarters as Cattaneo, Digweed and Warren has seen East Cafe's music played across the dance floors of the world. 

A pair of remixes for Yang are now supplemented by a third as an intricate percussive groove takes the foundations of "Spirals" and turns into a hypnotic, haunting piece that bristles with dynamic energy through a revitalized sixteenth note bass pattern. Using O'Neil and Desaturate's shimmering melodic lead to meander enticingly across the mid-range, East Café's skill is to use the addition of a new counterpoint riff in the third movement to create a stunning new rework.

The name Lutzenkirchen conjures images of techno mastery and a producer consistently at the vanguard of an ever-shifting genre and cut-throat industry. Over a thousand production credits sit proudly next to Tobias Lutzenkirchen's name with his commercial work spanning a 12-year period after "Daily Disco" hit the Great Stuff catalogues with a remix by Boys Noize in tow. Fast forward to 2017 and Lutzenkirchen has graced a plethora of high-end imprints that include the likes of Toolroom, Natura Viva and Tulipa. Add in 2008's debut album "Pandora Electronica," remixes for John Digweed, Guy Mantzur and John Acquaviva, plus support from Anthony Pappa, Eelke Kleijn and Mark Knight, and it is with real honor that Yin welcomes the German legend to the label. 

Founded upon a sympathetic approach to O'Neil and Desaturate's original groove, Lutzenkirchen launches a brilliant aural assault with a host of original production material that shimmers through muted arpeggio sequence, running bass line and analogue lead. Framing the central motif from "Spirals" in the third movement alongside looped vocal sample, keeps interest sustained until the devastating dénouement. Introducing a swathe of new additions to the original remix framework via the "Double Dub," a fast-paced and dynamic rework sees new melodic lines coruscate across the rhythmic foundations in a frantic and vibrant new dance-floor gem.

With "Binary" highlighting the dynamic Mondkrater production sound for Proton Music in April 2017, Particles now returns to the EP with three new impressive remixes.

An artist on an a rapidly rising upwards trajectory, Fairchild is an artist with a strong reputation. Finding his work supported by the the DJ elite, Pete Tong, Jeremy Olander and Jody Wisternoff are three of many to showcase the US producer's name. Indeed, it is on October 2017's "Anjunadeep 09" compilation, co-mixed by Wisternoff himself, that Fairchild sees his track "The Light in You" featured. A portfolio that includes releases for Arkade, NU Ideals and Motorik, now sees a debut remix for Particles. Taking on Mondkrater, the Fairchild remix wraps "Limb" in a shaker-fuelled percussive casing that grips the listener with a head-nodding groove and deep kick. Making full use of original melodic elements, a sweeping and meandering motif enriches the opening movements before a new, silky smooth arpeggio creates a spine-tingling moment in the breakdown. Rhythm and melody combine once more in the second half to create a work of passion and emotive tension.

Danny Lloyd is a storied name in the world of underground dance music. Fascinated by music from an early age, his forays into a diverse range of musical genres has brought him much success in both solo and collaborative ventures. With a portfolio that has seen work signed to BCSA, Lowbit and Soundteller, Lloyd's music for Particles is centred around 2015's "Espejismo" EP which went on to see remixes from fellow production partner, Andrea Cassino and French icon Rick Pier O'Neil. A clutch of remixes including Loquai and Pier O'Neil and Desaturate, is now joined by a remix of Mondkrater. Creating a dynamic groove and tightly interwoven bass line, Lloyd cleverly develops the melodic sequences that are so prevalent in the latter stages of Mondkrater's original into new and exciting directions. With subtlety and poise, a light and airy affair drifts enticingly along a nine-minute voyage of delight that passes in a hypnotic flash.

Polish producer, Jakub Heliński, is an artist who has carved out a sizeable niche over the course of 2017 with his Controlwerk moniker. Describing himself as a risk-taking 'sound auteur', inspired by Digweed and Kobana, Controlwerk's passion for progressive and deep house has led to over a century of production credits for the likes of Soundwaves, BC2 and Spring Tube, while January 2017's full-length "Borderline" album featured on Tuxedo's Electronic Tree. Crafting a unique remix of "Stellar Depth", the melodic themes central to Mondkrater's work immediately make their presence felt as a strong percussive backdrop fills the stereo spectrum and a swathe of shakers and hi-hats accompanying a dominant beat. Beautifully crafted new melodic structures make a sympathetic appearance at the breakdown in a work of imagination and technique.
