efja is a multiform electronics imprint operated by lunar convoy. This new endeavor will mainly focus on the experimental & abstract side of things, with a healthy dose of psychotropism.
Man of many trades, lunar convoy has been on the forefront of Brussels club scene since 2015, with regular appearances at C12 and Fuse and his event series Metropolis (co-founder). He’s also co-running a successful deep techno label called NORITE. However with efja, he has set to steer away from any conservative club structures and instead embrace the odd and uncertain.

The idea behind the 10th installment on 00effort was to explore the theme of time, as it’s inextricably linked to music itself. Both technical or conceptual references can be found on the album, which consists of nine DJ-friendly tracks. Artists strive away from the conventional track arrangement methods, leaning into the experimental approach.
Here you’ll find unconventional drum patterns, beats on the verge of disappearing, keygen infused elevator music, playful hyperpop, overwhelming industrial darkness, danceable limbo, tempo switch ups, fake codas, randomized repetitions, extremely long build ups, non-linear narratives, and many more. The clock is ticking, but the hands aren’t moving. Water is dripping, but the stone remains intact.

Micromelancolié is Robert Skrzyński, a Polish ambient/experimental musician whose discography counts a few dozens of releases on various respectable independet labels. As well as many other of Micromelancolié releases, Niwa is being released as a tape, and according to Skrzyński's words it's been planned as one of the parts of his record series referring to “changes in human understanding of reality, concept of true, and information overload caused by internet as a basic part of everyday life.” 

Skrzyński here once again continues in his proved practice of sound collaging, creating an adventurous ambient world made from pieces of manipulated found sounds, field recordings, static glitch, somewhat disquieting spatious pads and sound objects. As a result he brings us an album that is fragile yet exciting, adventurous and fairly daydream inducing.

(Can u bear the weight of the idea, that something is more important than u? That its life is fuller and more complex than yours?)

When living and not-living things and souls interact - how does it look like? Can we comprehend it? Can we feel it physically? How do they merge together, how do they blend and remix each other? How does this process sound? Is it the ritual of the spring, the mental freshness? Is it ancient consciousness being scanned and repeated again and again in an infinite loop - just being improved every single time these entities sways each other? Or maybe they harm and limit each other that something in another dimension can grow and multiply.
You can call it the flow of time. The natural selection maybe. But in the natural selection one side always dies. We call it friendship that every unit can live forever.
