Planetary Assault Systems - Awakenings Spring Festival 2023

Julia Govor, a Georgian-born and NYC-based artist, is a trailblazer in the North American underground electronic music scene. Recognized as a techno producer who “can take the fundamentals of techno and make it her own” (Resident Advisor), Julia has been featured on Bandcamp Daily as one of the best electronic music producers. Her talent has also been praised by The New Yorker, which described her music as “beguiling” and “rare,” noting that it “fills the mind.” In addition to her production work, Julia is the founder and curator of the record label JUJUKA.

This mix is dedicated to her SISTER tour. It features a tight, minimal, and dry sound—precisely designed, yet groovy.

Through a flurry of top-of-the-range releases for the likes of Dekmantel, Kompakt, Figure and his own imprint, WIP, the Japanese producer has been cementing his position as a true innovator of techno music. His unparalleled knack for crafting big-room-ready tunes that engineer a complex cocktail of cutting-edge elegance, modular intuitivity and hi-impact punch has logically made him a much sought-after talent in the scene. Not departing from that polymathic approach, his RYC mix, recorded at the PURE G event at FINAL Taipei on December 7, treats us to a storm of shape-shifting grooves and brutalist fractals of sound. This mix was recorded live from Reaktor's Katharsis event in 2017.  For those that don't know, Katharsis happens once a year and is dedicated to the faster, harder and more industrial side of techno.  This was my entire 3 hour set from that night.

Over the last few years we have built a steady relationship doing events together and sharing our passion for this music.  We are teaming up once again for ADE 2018 and releasing this mix as a thank you to all our followers and supporters.
