circuit|breaker showcases emerging and established local artists alongside international icons of the underground, channeling authentic soundscapes anchored in the dancefloor.
With foundations defined by artistic freedom and opportunity, the label represents a mutual appreciation for the digital and physical realms, with a debut VA presented on two slabs of glorious wax.
Our first VA installment opens with label co-founder ADMINISTRATOR’s erratic and brooding synth composition, ‘VER5e+01’. LSS kicks it up a gear with the soothing sensory zapper ‘Perch’. The B-side flips to Texas-based Decoder with the delirious hypnotic stomper, ‘Giggling’, followed by Lindsey Herbert’s dancefloor weapon straight out of L.A., ’Control’.
Co-founder Connor Wall opens the C-side with the rich and unrelenting grooves of ‘Setback’. Emerging Naarm sensation, Neo, pushes the pedal down with the face-melting ‘Suppressed Actions’. All followed by Lask’s no-nonsense, dimension transporting acidic roller ‘Deepbush’. Flip the record and flip out to Arthur Robert's thrilling 'Kepler 452b', closed out by Sweden-based Franz Jager’s lush techno heater ‘Kantine’, a superior rush of rhythm with flourishes of funk.

Scheermann’s third EP, self-released on his label SAMMLER, demonstrates his diverse skills as a producer and impresses with exceptional sound design. 

On the A-side, Monji features a stripped-down, clean beat accompanied by captivating drones, while Gaunt engages with its looping chord sequence and dense hi-hat arrangements, making it ideal for a deep peak-time set. 

The B-side offers a slightly more trippy experience: Bisu mesmerizes with a hypnotic and catchy loop, enhancing any set. Nika stands out with futuristic pads and a driving bassline, creating an immersive atmosphere on the dancefloor. 

Scheermann’s latest release adds a refreshing and stimulating touch to the scene, inviting enthusiasts and DJs to explore its innovative tracks.

[PREMIERE] | Yhii - Memory [B&F01]

Unissued Series Part 3 consists of 4 tracks with a focus on atmospheric/ spacial elements, and developing synth work, giving each track its own unique characteristics.

Starting out with a more experimental ambient piece I made a while ago, I try to lead the listener into more depth of my sound design process. A repeating sub melody is playing as I play around with various parameters allowing for it to evolve and change in character over time. The following 2 tracks take a similar approach in the development of the atmospheres and synth sounds, supported by simple but solid drums. Rounding off the release is a track focused on delivering driving yet moving drums, supported by dubby chords, and a repetitive but evolving sequence in the low mids.

A natural fit for the Token label and now a regular contributor, Nørbak presents his new release ‘Flauta’ on the Belgian imprint. Keeping things driving and dense, his productions boast a raw intensity, continuing to describe spacious rooms with roaring atmospheres. 

The title track serves as a firm introduction to the project; ‘Flauta’ is a typical Nørbak A1. Claps on the kick, thick sound design on all levels, and tribal percussion make for an imposing first track. Finding groove in the chaos is never difficult for the Portuguese artist, his seamless blend of functional and mental techno make for quite a recognizable sound with reliable effect. On the other hand, his followup ‘Despida’ sharpens the tone and focuses its elements. Proving he can do just as much damage with a more minimal approach, Nørbak drops the claps for shakers and whips up a distorted stab as the main driver of the track. Despite the versatility of his records, there is something very homogenous about the tonality of his drums and synths - they seem electric, and ‘Despida’ truly nails that aesthetic. Moving on to the B side, we have yet another facade of the project. While ‘Golpe’ has a classic foundation, Nørbak’s flamboyant sound design guides the track’s arrangement, making anything but a loop. The record’s structure makes for clear accents that insist on a pulsating atmosphere. This moves perfectly into the EP’s conclusion. ‘Camarada’ resembles more ‘Despida’ in the minimal construction, retaining a lot of the squelching lead textures. Mastering the question/answer style of techno, Nørbak is able to capitalize on the tonality of his sonic experiments to create swing on the dance floor. Obscure, quick, and elusive, Nørbak wraps up ‘Flauta’ with restraint and efficiency.

Berlin's Scheermann debuts on Mutual Rytm with deeply personal EP, ‘Viciosa’.

Scheermann is at the heart of the Berlin underground as a DJ/producer, but also working behind the scenes at the Intakt Berlin vinyl pressing plant, where he first met Mutual Rytm founder SHDW. As a resident of the Lorem Ipsum party series, he delivers cultured and compelling grooves, and is also an active member of the Wesertekk collective - supporting and pushing club culture to the forefront in more rural areas. His music comes from a deeply personal place, never chasing hype or headlines, and is usually found at home on his own imprint, SAMMLER. This new EP marks his first appearance away from the label as he unveils a collection of records crafted over five years, with each track representing different moments in his life.

‘Viciosa’ kicks off with paranoid vocals panning about as swinging, warehouse-ready drums pound heavily below. The gritty synth craft adds plenty of texture as filters build the vibe. ‘Placid Sin’ is even more intense with unresolved synths tripping you in a loopy state while coarse percussion and cantering drums march on. ‘Don't Care’ is a rave- ready cut that injects your soul with urgent synth energy over more minimal and moody drums. ‘Kano’ brings a more elastic rhythm with dubby undercurrents and sleek sonar pulses infusing it with mystery, while ‘Reika’ is a nimble cut with icy hi hats and curious synth notes layering in late night suspense.
