New Faces Mix Series 2.04: Zagc

dxrvo invites MARRGIAN & Ek-sistenz 

This 4h long hybrid set was recorded on August 3rd 2024 in Magdeburg (@geheimclub) It marks the first time the trio played a hybrid set in a club atmosphere and a big step toward their goal of integrating more and more live elements in the future. The setup consisted of the Moog DFAM and Mother-32 as well as a Roland Tr-8s drum machine, all layered on top of two CDJs using a Xone:96.  For this performance, the artists intentionally prepared as little as possible with the goal of creating a mix that truly represents the emotions and the connection to the dancefloor which they felt throughout the night. As such, most of the live elements that can be heard here were spontaneously jammed in during the performance — some more or less happy accidents included. But can you really have one without the other..? 

The final result: an energetic soundscape filled with lots of eerie, hypnotic synths, rolling percussions and deep baselines, all inspired by ecstatic screams and shouts from the dance floor.

waitingfortriptomars was born in Ukraine and shaped by Kyiv’s vibrant underground scene, where her passion for deep, immersive sound took root. After moving to Berlin during the war, she fused Kyiv’s energy with the city’s local culture, creating a unique mix of Techno, Electronic, Trance, and Breakbeat. The Brvtalist is proud to present a new mix from Boris. The iconic Berlin-based artist has long been a fixture in the local and international scene whether as a resident of Berghain or bringing his electrifying sets to countries all over the world. Deeply committed to the captivating magic that unfolds on the dance floor, this burning passion sparks a longing to shape, tease and playfully amplify the intensity of the dance floor action. With over two decades of experience as a producer for the likes of Ostgut Ton and Careless and as a DJ, he remains an unwavering, yet never predictable, mainstay.

Renowned for his extended, scorching techno closing sets, Boris is one of the most well-versed and dedicated protagonists in Berlin's vibrant queer electronic scene. However, to pigeonhole Boris only to Berlin would be doing him a disservice. In fact, his visits to legendary clubs like Paradise Garage and the Loft in New York City have left an indelible mark on his persona and DJ style. 

We're honored to bring you this incredibly journey through his sound.
