DJ Love might be a newcomer, but there's no guessing that from the way he plays. The London-based new boy has already perfected the art of layering his hard grooves with euphoric energy, both in the booth and in the studio. His tunes on Beardman, Pretty Weird and Wavelengths have been supported by the likes of Interplanetary Criminals and Mark Broom, who, he admits, is a large part of the reasons he plays the sounds he does.

Ahead of a first big Australian tour, we speak to the fast-rising star about finding balance when playing fast, how he challenges himself with his Rinse FM show and what he wanted to achieve with this week's mix. It's a great snapshot of where he's at and the sort of selection that will power you through to the weekend in no time.

KACPER - DEVIATION

NewTone is an Amsterdam-based DJ duo made up of two childhood friends who blend old-school house with modern club energy. Their sound draws from a wide range of house music, combining classic influences with contemporary rhythms. Their first two EPs reached the top three on Beatport, with support from artists such as Job Jobse, Palms Trax, Tjade, and Chris Stussy.  

They have played events including Loveland, Intercell, and Lowlands, as well as venues like Lofi, Thuishaven, and Shelter. Sets are known for being dynamic and energetic, often keeping dancefloors moving for hours. With more music ready for release and ongoing studio work, NewTone continues to refine and expand this sound.  

This mix is built around unreleased material, both NewTone’s own tracks and music from favorite producers. The set focuses on uplifting house grooves and Afro-influenced rhythms. It brings together several IDs that have been featured in recent shows over the past weeks.

Phase II deepens the process.

A driving low-end and rolling hi-hats lock into a steady, unrelenting motion, while resonant synth stabs and filtered sequences reinforce the hypnotic state. The harmonic center remains fixed, allowing rhythm and texture to dominate the narrative.

This phase is about commitment.
No release, no escape, only forward motion.
The system is fully engaged, and the listener is pulled further inside the loop.

XPV // Album

XPV is not born. It is forged.
This album pushes Techno to its ignition point, where the pulse takes control and the dancefloor stops being a place and becomes a state of mind.

Built in the 130–140 BPM range, XPV moves forward with relentless four-on-the-floor kicks, driving single-note basslines and resonant sequences that coil into a mechanical mantra. Harmonic movement is kept to a minimum, because it does not need more. Everything revolves around rhythm, tension and hypnosis.

Each track follows a linear, evolving structure, designed for clubs and peak-time moments. No distractions, only constant pressure. Surgical breakdowns charge the air with electricity before releasing the energy in controlled drops. Processed vocal chops and spoken phrases act as human flashes inside a cold, precise sonic architecture.

XPV is dark, euphoric and direct, with clean, powerful production, deep sub-bass and effects that breathe just enough to sustain the trance. An album made to lose track of time, for the exact moment when the night reaches its highest point and there is no way back.

This is not just Techno.
