Artist six in our special BCCO x HE.SHE.THEY. takeover to celebrate Trans Awareness Week is the Washington, D.C.-based artist Baby Weight.

For over a decade, Baby Weight has been captivating dancefloors with her genre-bending sound, dynamic DJ sets, and outspoken advocacy. She has earned support from major artists such as Fatboy Slim, Walker & Royce, LP Giobbi, Justin Martin, Chris Lorenzo, Nicole Moudaber, and VNSSA.

Described by Mixmag as “resolutely anti-bullshit and pro-fun,” Baby Weight has performed at top festivals like Coachella, SXSW, and EDC. Her releases span renowned labels including Insomniac Records, He.She.They, Southern Fried, D4D4NCE, Dome of Doom, and Street Tracks.

In 2020, she publicly came out as trans, reflecting her journey in both her personal life and as an artist. That same year, she scored her first #1 on Beatport with ‘Rave Police.’

2022 was a standout year, marked by high-profile releases such as ‘House Princess,’ which featured in Calvin Klein’s Pride campaign. In 2023, DJ Mag and The Blessed Madonna named her an “artist to watch,” leading to a nomination for “Breakthrough DJ of the Year.” Her track ‘Slay 4 Me’ also gained heavy support from BBC Radio 1, Defected, and Ministry of Sound.

In 2024, Baby Weight’s releases ‘Inner Voice’ and ‘For U’ showcased new sonic directions, culminating in a buzzworthy performance at Coachella.
