@nicolasvogler’s fascination for music stretches back far into his childhood. Born and raised in Londrina, southern Brazil, his musical journey first manifested itself in an admiration for punk and rock n’ roll. 

Inspired by the dirty rawness of old school techno and the hypnotic vibes of more contemporary tracks, Nicolas decided to pursue his newfound passion by DJing at small events in his hometown. 

Today, he is a producer, gaining renown through his own personal label NCLS as well as through recent releases on groove-focused techno labels such as Syxt Berlin, Drawner records or Hemisferio. From now on,  Nicolas’ tracks are played worldwide, especially by artists as Setaoc Mass or Ben Sims.

For this episode we invited the fresh RAW signee STEYA - originally from Antwerpen and since the past 5 years based in Berlin. She delivers the rough sound of Germany's capital, not coming short on groovy and detroitesque tracks. Her first release, which can be found on RAW's `Third Eye´ compilation, came out earlier this month and sets the foundation for many more releases to come in the next months and years. If this talented 21-year old Frankfurt based DJ isn’t on the road playing gigs, he spends his time sifting through record shops, old dj collections or the internet in order to uncover lost gems or forgotten classics. Besides growing his already impressive record collection, Slin sports three deck vinyl mixes that continue to impress in terms of technicality and musicality. His attitude towards DJing in general is sportive and ambitious; the intense preparation that goes into every one of his sets translates into an infectious performance in the booth, always in the mix working the wax. His sets rely on a raw, rough and honest groove as well as nonlinear storytelling and are always a pleasure to dance to. His love for both old and new records allows him to demonstrate the breadth of his musical knowledge, engaging also the more experienced listeners.

My first ever techno experience I made at the Street Parade in Zürich.Since then the music became a huge part of my life. Travelling  around the world to explore new clubs/festivals and follow. My favorite DJ's was the main goal of mine for the last 10 years and it still is. Especially the Amsterdam techno scene has inspired me a lot. It's definitely my favorite place for having these special moments on the dancefloor. Behind the decks I try to catch the crowd with fast paced groovey and hypnotic techno. What else do you need? A club with an intimate crowd and a good soundsystem. That's what I call a perfect night.
