In a world of chaos and entropy, truth, friendship and harmony is often found lingering in the strangest places. The randomness of incongruent forces colliding may produce a beautiful union. dischordant and dissonant frequencies given the right time, the right rythm and space. Given the ability to reverberate freely have the power to produce the most pleasent of soundscapes. 
although these unlikely alliances are sometimes difficult to stomach and harder still to seek out... they should not be scoffed at or eviscerated from our consciousness. It is incumbent on us to be open to these alliances and to be grateful for the growth that they inspire.

This piece is a longform journey in which slowly i added incongruent pieces into the overall mix, playing with the conflict between sounds. I wanted to play the piano the way that i play the pandrum. with a heavy focus on overall resonance to create the desired headspace.
the accompanied video incorporates img2img conversion using the deforum notebook from stable diffusion. I wanted the video to reflect that chaos. wherein random moments coincide beautifully. almost necessitating an intentionality.

a cautionary tale about being too stuck in your ways to make a change

when the days fin ally stop turning over who will you listen to?
forced to listen to long to the swan song of a man who spent his whole life dying
not even trying to live

exonerated by a made up story
quelled by his very telling
in the days that follow there would be specific instructions for the grievers
in two categories
cowards and believers
though it was all his narrative
he chose to share it far and wide
with great pride and hubris
he was the rubric

not much to offer
so he would convince himself otherwise
otherize anyone whod compromise his character
what a character
beloved far and wide for his ability to shapeshift
he spent his days thinking of his mistakes
and his nights trying to drink them away
he conjured up stories to make it sound like
he was the one in the right
and most of the time he could believe it

never once thought of leaving
staying would be just the justification
just enough to call it tough love
so tough that there was no love ever
he hated his work, his kids, his life
but mostly himself

and all the rest was just reflecting him
showed no respect but expects your respect for him
Rejected all advise
If it isn’t praise it’s criticism
You could spend your whole life
trying to get through to a narcissist
He’ll only listen to himself

refuse any self help

go from empty
To anguish
To angry

And dump that weakness
in the wake of those he’d claim to love.
Because he couldn’t find it
for all the claims; he didnt mind it
when the days finally stopped turning over
when it was all over and he'd finally get to get through
hed be remisce that no one miss him

I often find myself, while working on the roadside or walking the city streets, noticing beauty and life where it is least expected. Discarded, trashed, or otherwise unnoticed bouquets on the roadside are a stark reminder of the importance of being grateful in the most difficult and ugly of times. Flowers growing through concrete cracks, on the sides of bridges and through the asphalt. Discarded bouquets which haven't lost their colors, and even fake flowers thrown to wind can all serve to remind me of the same beauty.

One thing I think we all know, all too well, is how tempting it can be to surrender to dejection, apathy and self pity. To let circumstances dictate our ability to succeed. It's very true that the world can be cold, demoralizing, and even hostile to growth. And maybe your excuse is valid, maybe you were sown into the most unforgiving of environments and circumstances, robbed of your chance to really thrive in the light of the sun or thrown away as soon as your color began to fade. 

But I see a thriving ecosystem where it has no business being. Life sprouting from nothing! Beautiful colors in the trash, and I think to myself...

How tremendous that this piece of life and beauty has not given up yet. 
How lucky I am to be in the light of this, which would have been so easy to miss.

It strikes me that when we resign ourselves to thinking there is no beauty in our surroundings, we miss so much of what makes life beautiful. And when we allow ourselves to believe that it is too strenuous a task to keep on going, we forget that growing, is really all there is to life anyway.
