Cr8 Records - Guest Mix August 2022

After nearly a year hiatus, Portnall Progcast is back with a special mix from easily it's finest contributor to date. 
The past year has seen the world determinedly slink out of Covid based choke hold. Cities are again open, clubs are again packed, and we are back enjoying music side by side like we thought we never would since the pandemic started. 
For most producers the pandemic offered a period of forced solitude in which to explore and progress their talent. This was no different for London (UK) based progressive house wizard Essco, who has seen the fruits of his lockdown labours release music on labels such as Cosavepole Recordings, Nylo Labs, and Cr8 Records, searing our eardrums with his rolling basslines through both headphones and club speakers alike. 
2022 feels like the beginning of something huge for Essco; the same breath of fresh air and anticipation we all feel coming out of the pandemic, and it's our pleasure to share his mix of tracks "special to him" as a means to propel the Portnall Progcast back into orbit.

Still pinching myself after being given the privilege by Cr8 Records to be on a lineup with one of my favourite Artists and some of my closest mates. The atmosphere in the room was electric and everyone there contributed to one hell of a party. Really enjoyed throwing some tinder on the fire before my usual B2B partner in crime kayBe began properly saucing the place up. The music all night was exceptional start to finish and I really encourage you to check out the sets as they are posted.

Warm Up for Mike Rish @ Basinghouse London (29/10/22)

It's impossible to think back to the atmosphere of the dancefloor this night without grinning from ear to ear like a child in a toy store.
We are so lucky to so quickly have such a ridiculously incredible community of sonic journeyers in which to share our passion for such hugely talented artists London is so starved of. The reception Thommie G and Kapoor received in their debut London performances encompassed the exact motivation for Sanctuary Sessions and to feel the connection and love between strangers on the dancefloor melded by the talent of these two couldn't have rewarded us any more for putting on the event. 
Grateful to have these opportunities to meet such people that inspire my passion for music as much as they inspire replacements for the 'volume up' buttons of my Iphone. 
My imposter syndrome burns bright as hell to share the lineup with Thommie G and Kapoor, and also with fellow Sanctuary Sessions curator kayBe, who is firmly making her mark on the London club scene in her own groovingly beautiful way.

BDC | Sanctuary Sessions @ Low Profile Studios LDN 06.05.23(with kayBe, Kapoor, Thommie G)

Celebrating New Yeas Eve 2023 with our mates in the Cr8 community has left me with a buzz lasting all these weeks later. The passion project aimed at bringing the best of progressive house to London has unintentionally blossomed into another genuinely great community of also great people. One of my favourite gigs of the year- so grateful to have such talented and dedicated mates to teach me and help me explore my own love for music more intimately through DJing, and epic to share another gig with said mates and have the tunes receive nothing but glowing feedback from everyone all night. @kayBe and @Essco gave me my best musical memories of 2023 so it was fitting to have them blow us away as the year finished.

JFH b2BDC | Cr8 Live - New Years Eve @ The BunkerLDN 31.12.2 (with kayBe, Essco)

Amazing experience having the opportunity to play on the same setup I've seen so many of my favourite artists share here at Egg London. One of the best sound systems I've ever experienced in any room, you really cant describe with words how much you feel the sound coming from that setup. Ears are still ringing and I love it.
Few stumbles in the second half of the mix but we never truly fell and had an absolute blast from start to finish.
Thank you to A-Square for the opportunity and to all those who gave such epic feedback on the night, truly is the best feeling.
