Hey there, music enthusiasts! I'm Oz a hobbyist musician who's been strumming the strings of my guitar since my teenage years. Music has always been my passion, weaving its melodies through every chapter of my life. From the intricate rhythms of Oriental music to the rebellious energy of pop-punk, the timeless allure of blues, the groove of funk, and the nostalgia of electronic sounds from the '80s and '90s, I find inspiration in a diverse array of genres.

For me, music is more than just sound – it's a language of emotions, a canvas where I paint my feelings and experiences. The power of music to evoke and express emotions never ceases to amaze me. Nestled in the Rocky mountains of the Western United States, you will find 2 musicians who have been friends and colobrated for a long time. First, there is Jason. his artistic and moloatic approach to lyrics and singing puts him a notch above the rest.  In the back, you will find Jim who plays each note on every track.  Each note is played individually at the time of recording. We like to make and record music that we love to listen to it. TBR; the sound of a singer/songwriter, but not in the traditional sense! Influenced by a mixture of grunge, garage and metal, TBR takes a solo aesthetic, but applies a rock/metal filter, with a home produced approach. Lyrically, the songs are inspired by a mixture of personal and political issues, with views on modern life that underpins the songs.

To celebrate 2000, I took a year off to write songs, novels, plays, and stories - and I've been doing that since. At the end of my first year, I won first prize in the USA Songwriting Contest in the Lyric Category for 'Drum Machines and Beauty Queens.' This led to co-writing songs with many excellent musicians, including those represented in songs posted here. 

More recently, I was one of seven finalists in the Crisis Lyric Category of the 2021 UK Songwriting Contest for 'Lockdown Blues,' and one of nine nominees in the 2021 International Song Awards with 'Didn't the River Know' and 'Blue and Gold.'

For the past two years, I've been collaborating with many talented musicians on Kompoz. I release many of these songs here and compile the best into albums released under Captain Stormfield's Trip on Spotify and other platforms (see links below).
