After three super solid and well appreciated vinyl 12“ releases which were receiving nothing but love all over the place, have been played out on heavy rotation in clubs and at festivals and surely have been essential in shaping the relatively new Deep- / Slowhouse / (Neo)Cosmic offshoot that's not filed under a genre-defining flag yet but is partly described  as consisting  of „love songs that accidentally turned into tracks“ these days this series does not need no further introduction. 

The Stiff Little Spinners brand has grown and gained recognition on the club circuit especially throughout the past twelve months and that's why we serve it's fourth issue in a special, well chosen context of joy and celebration. 

Whilst the Audiolith mothership is turning 10 years in 2013, turning it's head into the next „Ten Years From Now“ with a special anniversary sampler LP the vinyl edition of Stiff Little Spinners Volume 4 will be included as additional bonus 12“ for this sampler and is not to be sold seperately, introducing the labels more club-focused side to all its followers. 

But now we're back to the music.

Starting the musical journey with Gimmix  „Missy“ it's pretty obvious why the trademark Stiff Little Spinners-sound goes way beyond the term of Deep- or SlowHouse as the use of tender vocal samples and heartwarming melodies with an uplifting twist on top of deepest basslines sparks nothing but innocent happiness.

Stepping forward we're running into Joney – Hamburg's uber-active jack-of-all-trades who simply states „It's Braining Schnaps And Frogs“ with his excursion into stomping, sub-driven Techno House. Aware of Sheffield's Bleeps & Clonks he easily manages to keep the drums marching straight away whilst delicate strings tell a totally different tale, reminiscing about these few calm minutes before the sun sets. These opposite sides of the story easily fall into place for good, making this brain out a very special tune for special moments.

Next up is the great Kalipo with „Perspicientia“ and the Frittenbude-trained master of analogue gear surely knows what the lovers of this series call out for. This time he's on an ever evolving, innocently (Neo)Trance-induced tip, shifting through frolicking chords and organic basslines, building layers and layers of melodies, sounds and greatly processed vocal bits, slightly referring to Future Garage musically but thrilling every floor that's based on a decent four by four. Nothing but quality in here.

Stiff Little Spinners-mastermind Krink steps up to the circuit with his instant classic „Talking“ which is paying great respect to the early days of Chitown whilst keeping the sweet functionality and maximum dancefloor effect of stripped down House Music in mind. One of these rare tracks that's totally living up to the history of House in every little detail. But still „Talking“ is way more than a pure emulation of what has been once as the man they call Krink is breathing sex and soul and love and a vision with every micro-tone included in this masterpiece.

Another uncrowned master of sweetness in dance floor music is Rampue who is exploring slightly different realms here with shuffling beats, Spanish vibes and romantic Flamenco'esque guitars embedded in a synth heavy surrounding that feels no fear of vibing of on offbeat structures and Jazz standards. “Una Bluna” is crossing borders and uniting the best of both musical worlds under one roof.

Finally Torsun Teichgräber gives us some kind of French goosebumps with his “De Plus En Plus Fort” - a lovely piano-driven affair based on highly intimate, uber-fragile female vocals that slowly are sucked in to a warm Acid (Not Acid)-flavored vision of (Tech) House that's second to none these days.

Les Deux are an up-and-coming duo from Paris with only a few productions to their name. Once you hear "Jolie" chances are you'll be hooked. 06. Clap Eyes

My dear friends

I am happy to share my live recordings of one of the most magical night of my career so far.
I was invited to play in Oaxaca, Mexico together with Acid Pauli during 'Day of the dead' on 31st of oct 2015.
We played in some kind of old spanish church in the middle of the night. Because it was ‘the day of the death’ everybody was dressed like skelletons. They painted me as my dog Rivaldo, that passed away 3 months ago.
You can imagine playing in Mexico in a temple, on the day of the dead, with Acid Pauli, in front of Skelletons, while I was painted like my Rivaldo (and Martin had some kind of Jezus outfit) was pretty magical.

So I am excited to share with you the live recordings of this night.
I want to thank Mariana, ALKEMY and gem&bolt party w/ guest mezcal Amores and Meteoro to set up this night.
And all the people who came to show: you really made that temple come alive again!!

Based in LA, Matt Caines is well known in the electronic music world as a formerly being an integral part of the Cityfox Experience and the permanent venue Brooklyn Mirage, opened in 2015. Matt has since gone on to become Director of Production for the Summit Series events, a world-renowned information and cultural exchange where entrepreneurs, innovators, and change-makers figure out ways to make the future a better place.

Matt Caines is a creative producer, musician, builder, fabricator, and experiential designer. A New York native, Matt has produced events all over the city as well as Los Angeles, Eden, UT, Tulum, Mexico, and on a cruise ship sailing in international waters.

Matt made his mark in the production world as the head of The CityFox Experience; an extension of Reynard Productions, creating pop-up event experiences all over Brooklyn. His most notable project being the Brooklyn Mirage, a 75,000 sq ft pop-up nightclub in converted warehouse/parking lot space in Bushwick, Brooklyn which included a massive living walling with 18,000 plants and 21 Palm trees. The  Brooklyn Mirage hosted nearly 40 events, 100 musical performances, and 100,000 people in Summer 2015.

In 2016, Matt left CityFox to join Summit Series as Director of Production / Creative Director.  Summit Series is the leading conference series for entrepreneurs, innovators, and change-makers. Summit Series produces events nationally and internationally, boasting an invitation-only community of 15000 people. Matt also services as an on going consultant/contractor for various audio companies including KV2 Audio, Funktion One.

Throughout Matt's career, he has been able to constantly elevate his music. Matt has played over 100 shows across the globe holding DJ Residencies at Ahau Tulum, and Bespoke Musik. Matt has played and collaborated with world known Labels and Artists such as Cityfox, Innervisions, All Day I Dream, Diynamic, Life & Death, Desert Hearts, Zero, Lee Burridge, Pillowtalk,, M.A.N.D.Y., Atish, Bedouin, Jon Charnis, Satori, Nico Stojan, Crussen, Goldcap, HOJ, and Deep Jesus just to name a few.

I like nature and music and I like deep dives into the depths of my own mind.

It’s becoming more and more obvious that my mind is really busy - way too busy. It is always exposed - constantly receiving and absorbing, processing and changing.

I have therefore become more cautious of what I want to let into consciousness and taking regular breaks from the endless stream of stimuli and simply paying close attention to my mind has helped me pierce through the spellbinding clutter of unstoppable thoughts. To me, what reveals itself on the other side is a profound state of
calm. A calm from which natural curiosity, playfulness and love can spring freely.

Music is a channel where I express this natural playfulness that I believe we all share deep inside. Playing my music on top of the Robot Heart bus at their ten year anniversary was one of those precious moments where I felt you were responding to this - we were playing together.

When you express a similar joy and playfulness to that which I create the music with we set a beautiful feedback loop into motion. Getting eye contact with you and seeing how me and my wobbly harmonica notes crack you up into a big smile affects me and really fires me up. 

Your response inspires me to create more and feel more and
express myself more. 

I would like to send a big fat virtual hug to everyone who rode their bikes deep out into the playa that morning and to Robot Heart for  making me part of the family.

Caines is a Bespoke Musik Resident, based in Tulum, Mexico. Aka Matt Caines, he is a creative producer, extending his roots through music, experiential design, and the built environment.  A New York native, he has produced events internationally, leading teams from all over the world to create a haptic and participatory space that moves people, causes a reaction, instigates change.


The power of Caines is his ability to persuade you - simply by feeling the music. His style is sophisticated, evoking emotion through rhythmic vocals and a curated atmosphere, be it water-side melodies or warehouse deep. He has mastered his main spark; acutely sensitive to momentum, his music unleashes your human animal, playing with musical triggers to propel the crowd into their natural balance of movement and ritual.


Caines continues to explore the power of musical platforms by pushing cultural exchanges of new sounds, living a nomadic lifestyle around the world. With an initiative to connect purpose and place, he has humbly joined the team of Art With Me (Tulum) as Executive Producer.
