DJ-Pipes is back with a couple of garage bombs and Omalettie is sitting shotgun with a bangin' remix for Wildfire's first release of 2024. Vibes is peppered with classic UK garage flavour and its signature huge round bass lines. Omalettie supplies a unique take of the same track but retains the energy and nostalgic flow. Feeling funky starts a bit more on the 2 step side of garage and sets you up for the big bad bass in masterful style and rounds off this garage release perfectly. All 3 are must have for any underground DJ looking to spice up a set and keep them moving.

Bass Cellar residents Miss Haze and SkullDuck came down from the northern parts of middle New England to engage in some half hour rotations on the Playground. We went hard and heavy through the whole show, each playing off the others' energy. I led off the show with some heavy MC laden tracks and a new remix by Boston local NM+ of DJ Steppo - Benz as well as Steppo's new tune R9 Eclipse closing out my first set. Next up was SkullDuck, with he and Miss Haze going for two rotations plus a bit before I closed out the show.

Well what a combination we have here, as we invite the legendary pairing of Vital Techniques and General Levy back to Four40 on remix duty, as the team return alongside some ferocious reworks and a bag of top notch guests for one our favourite ever producer-vocalist link ups.

First of all, we jump into the official vocal remix, for which we invite a host of the country’s highest ranking vocalists to get involved, including Dread MC, Devilman & Killa P, who all supply some major heat with their high energy appearances, chopping and changing rapid fire flows. 

We are also lucky enough to grab a pair of very exciting remixes, as we first invite the ever-evolving sounds of 9TRANE jump into remix mode, refitting the grimey original with a set of heavy, darkened techy bass themes, followed up by DeadbeatUK’s super wonky bassline refurbishment. What a selection!

This is the third of a continuing series of podcasts/mixes based around the music I find and discover while studying week to week. Each episode will contain a combination of new and old choons from an array of genres I dig, from electronic and hip-hop through to reggae. The focus is on non-dancefloor orientated music designed for laid back affairs or hours of study - a studious vacation. The inspiration comes from a mix a friend made yeaaaaars ago titled studious vacation which seems quite suitable.

Every song is chosen for a reason and I hope you get the same amount of joy and happiness from them as I do. I primarily make these for personal listening but feel the need to share, hoping some one else will enjoy it just as much. A huge thank-you to the amazing artists who make this beautiful, beautiful music - it makes me happy as balls. Let me know which tracks you enjoy and I'll include more of that in future editions.
