Creation is Creation, out February 25th on Gravitas Recordings, is a philosophical inquiry regarding the alchemy of creativity. Inspired by nature, Somatoast makes use of the natural world to serve technical, musical purposes. Seeds pods make shakers and icicles are a percussive ensemble. This electro-acoustic fusion spans six original tracks and four remixes– marking another unique development in Somatoast’s ever-evolving sound.

Tapping in Boyd Hill introduces the album with its sweeping aural environments and grounding tapping that begins the story of Creation is Creation, which is that human creativity is the same force of all creation. The tapping heard in the track was recorded live in Boyd Hill Nature Preserve in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dawn embraces the texture of a seed shaker found in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. By letting the naturally found sounds do the talking, Dawn comes off with a simplified yet refined sound design. Namesake of the album, Creation is Creation is a jazzy approach into the essence of this album. Featuring expansive atmospheres partnered with piano riffs and inspiring lyrics, Creation is Creation dives deep into exploration of the universe that resides all around us.

An organic reprieve in the middle of the album, Kokoa features distinct usage of primitive and empowering vocals before segwaying into Icicle that was inspired from the Texas Freeze in early 2021 with lush guitar lines, rippling breakdowns and grounding bass. Lastly, Ooh Yeah is an experimental glitchy departure from the rest of the album, highlighting resounding soundscapes underneath bouncing plucks. As a bonus, the album rounds out with remixes from Lapa, Edamame, Skysia and Kaya Project.

Clubsonica Records opens the spring season with a new collaborative project from Andre Moret and Mariusso. As one of Brazil's most highly regarded progressive house artists, Andre Moret has achieved many successes across his seven year career. World class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been regular supporters, while his inimitable productions have found a home on Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden and Warung Recordings, amongst others. Also an accomplished DJ, the Campinas resident has taken his impeccable taste and smooth programming skills around the world, performing in Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay, while also being a fixture of Brazil's vibrant nightlife, through his highly regarded gigs at D.EDGE, Club 88, Clash Club, Gate22 and more. Meanwhile, also hailing from Brazil, Douglas Mariusso aka Mariusso made his mark as a DJ first, gaining recognition early on for performances at both clubs and festivals, most notably Alakazam, NuGarden, Tulum Open Air, Vozz and Warung Tour. Eventually gaining traction as a producer as well, the Balneário Camboriú resident managed to craft his own unique amalgamation of progressive, organic and afro house, leading to projects for long-standing imprints in Droid9 and Transensations, amongst others. Having been previously paired for well-received releases via Fractal Noise, Nature Recordings, One of A Kind and The Purr, Andre Moret and Mariusso continue to build on their creative partnership into 2025, adding Clubsonica to their resume with ‘Cygnus', alongside remixes from Cosmonaut and Abity. 

The rejuvenating sounds of ‘Cygnus' crash in and set a progressive peak time approach for the EP, forecasting energetic grooves, jet force propulsions and hypnotic percussive cadences. Its flickering arpeggios, buzzing synth stabs and emerging melodies make for a club-effective first act, before placid pads and creamy melodies converge for a dreamy topline to tip the dancefloor over the edge. ‘Suboshi' follows in fine style and further hammers down the duo's elusive vision, with groovy key-changing basslines carrying the piece throughout. Chunky sequences of rhythm and cosmic synth phrasing travel beyond the conventional confines of progressive house, while colourful arpeggiated clusters and effervescent effects highlight an emotive final act. The third and final original ‘Lyra' finds Andre and Mariusso crafting an emotive excursion that's nicely suited for those morning club moments. Booming yet dreamy, its swing-heavy hypnotism instantly commands your attention, through snatches of blurred reverberations, quirky synth mutations and bucolic pads, eventually culminating in a finale of melodic euphoria.

Andrew Field, the UK-based producer behind Cloaked, resurfaces with an impressive 4-track EP that continues his sonic relationship with Roger Martinezs HIGHER STATES imprint. Following his 2021 release Extinction Burst / Rising Tide on the same label, Cloaked once again delivers his signature blend of driving progressive grooves, emotive melodies, big harmonic structures and space-bending atmospheres. On this EP he crafts music with a cinematic edge — Blade Runner-esque slow-burning arrangements built around subtle tension, layered harmony, and groove-driven momentum. Add to that the use of massive swirling effects and you get four big, festival sized tracks that draw attention through their unique character and sound design. 

Inspired by a lifelong connection to electronic music and a background that spans both bedroom experimentation and club-focused refinement, Cloaked's sound is both technical and emotive at the same time. Cloaked's knowledge of and experience with electronic music goes back to the early beginnings of UKs 90s electronic dance music movements: their amalgamated sounds clearly echoing back into Cloaked's contemporary musical creations. A self-confessed studio obsessive, Cloaked approaches music with patience and precision. 

With this latest EP , Cloaked expands the HIGHER STATES vision: genre-defying, deep, driving dance music that connects body and mind into a single moving frequency.
