"Baby Love" is a 1986 crossover hit single by Brooklyn-born singer Regina. The single hit number one on the dance charts for two weeks in mid-1986. The single also crossed over to the pop singles chart, where it peaked at #10 and also made the Top 30 on the Soul Singles chart. "Baby Love" would be her only single to chart on both the Pop and Soul Singles chart.
The song was written by Steve Bray, Regina Richards & Mary Kessler. Bray had written several hits for Madonna. It was intended for Madonna, with Regina deciding to record the song herself when Madonna declined. With Bray's production, it sounded similar to Madonna's own recordings and was sometimes mistaken for one.

Baby Love was part of the soundtrack to my teenage years, so I thought I'd pay it some respect and make it friendlier for a modern dance floor. This edit involves some simple rearrangement and added beats and percussion. Downloadable for a limited time. Enjoy.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Stephanie Mills -a former Broadway star- is a respectful soul singer that had been married in the 1970s for a brief period, to Jeffrey Daniel from the soul group Shalamar and is rumored to be romantically involved with Michael Jackson in 1975 when she portrayed Dorothy in the original African American adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz entitled The Wiz alongside Dee Dee Bridgewater and Tasha Thomas.
 
“You Can Get Over” is THE definite disco dynamite raised from her third LP “What Cha' Gonna Do With My Lovin”, her first gold record.  Produced and written by the prolific James Mtume & Reggie Lucas, this highly energetic symphonic-disco masterpiece adopted some pretty futuristic electronic sounds that chilled the spines of every disco dancer in 1979 makin’ it a hit on the U.S. Disco charts where it climbed to #8. Mills’ performance is outstanding as she manages to dominate, screaming her heart out, on such a strong/ecstatic track. Also noted is that Gwen Guthrie was among the backing vocalists.

On this edit I reform the vocal order on the chorus and the verses, highlight the spacy bits, extend the killer rhythm guitar and add some new stuff on what I consider is one of disco’s best ever productions.

New York based duo D-Train released their first single "You're The One For Me", mixed by François Kevorkian, in late 1981 on Prelude Records. It was an instant success, hitting #1 for three weeks on the U.S. Hot Disco/Dance chart in Jan 1982 and #13 on the U.S. Soul chart. It also entered the UK Pop top-30. Larry Levan hammered it and made it a determinant Paradise Garage anthem. 
Among those who sampled it over the years are N.W.A. for their 1988 “Something 2 Dance 2”, Heavy D & the Boyz for their 1991 “Swinging With Da Hevster”, Pete Rock for his 2001 “Take The D-Train” and Prodigy for their 2004 hit “Girls”. 

It’s one of my 10 all-time fave dance tracks. The beat is sizzling hot, the bassline rules, the synths are dominant, the lyrics are so inspiring and James "D. Train" Williams’s voice is fascinatingly rich, this track is perfection through and through. 
On this mix you get lots of different sounds, extra percussion/bass/bells, longer funky intro, more breaks & reformed bridges and spiritual outro. Enjoy the loud shout!
