this takes me back...  wonderful retro dark wave, post-punk vibe...  nice vocals too.  reminds me of Lloyd Cole a bit

Another song that took a lot of twists and turns before it became the finished piece here. The original music was a piano piece backed by the ticking of a grandfather clock called "Time & The Beautiful Cold". Somehow we ended up with a piece of music completely & utterly different - dark and moody -  a sort of electronic music tone poem. I think the only part that survived vaguely intact to the final mix was the "take me everywhere" part in the middle but if you listen really closely at about the 0:56 second mark you can faintly hear some tambourine via headphone bleed from the original demo 🤪

Lonely Gimmick presents it's second release: Pessimistic Weather.
The anonymous artist blends hip-hop style drums with raucous post punk guitar and electronic synth bass on this new experimental, energetic track. The lyrics are a comment on the troubled times we live in and the media's portrayal of current affairs by use of constant fear. Written before the Corona virus pandemic it takes it's inspiration from climate change, Brexit, the Trump presidency and world politics. The accompanying video was taken the day after the Brexit vote outside the Houses of Parliament in London. Politics can be divisive but regardless of which side of the fence you stand on Lonely Gimmick hopes you can enjoy the track.
