- Just a little psychological trauma

- Not afraid to call out Tsubaki on tricking him
- The whispers of the crowd, and how being back in the concert hall affects him, while showing how well known he was
- Hasn't given up on music, but there are blocks
- Unable to express his thoughts on Koari's performance to her
- Terrified of the piano, but can't stay away 


Tsubaki:
- Colourful and energetic
- Can understand where Kousei actually is
- Finding the right way to push Tsubaki
- "He's Like a Brother to me" so obvious Drama bait
- Hopes her level of care is reciprocated from Kousei 
- Tsubaki's plan: yay or nay?
- Not about Kousei playing the piano, it's about Kousei making his own choices
- HAs the most clear motivations, but unsure where she will be going

Kaori:
- Magnetic and Attractive - Not physical/romantic, but someone who can draw others in
- Hope her collaboration with Kousei will let Kousei find his sound, and that Kousei will ground her
- Airy, floaty and Wild
- Her playing clearly sparks something in Kousei, attacking his mental block from the side
- How does Koari look up to Kousei?
- How much insider information does she have on Kousei's feelings to her?


Watari:
- Loyal Friend, but not loyal boyfriend
- Not much with him so far
- Has a Sage like maturity 
- Way out of his depth in the concert hall




Predictions:
Kousei will become saturated in more colours until a crisis happens
Wants this to be everyone helping and hurting instead of being all about Kousei

- Kousei's mother representing a stagnancy, something structurally holding him back
- The event with his mom stopped him from playing
- Relying on Kaori allowing Kousei to push forward and play
- Playing a piece by standard, without deviation, is fine however when adlibbing and flourishing he falls apart
- "This isn't even my final form" - Kousei probably
- Kousei jumping off the bridge was a moment of character growth
- Still an incredible musician even though he can't play
- Feels trapped in his world
- Is not devoid of emotion or is self centered, reciprocated Tsubaki's friendship
- Is beginning to face his traumas

Kaori:
- Kaori's colour changing eyes
- Representing freedom, journey and forward progressioon for Kousei's character growth
- Kaori's health issues
- Is a shameful concubine now that her back has been seen, she will never be wed
- Tricksy hobbit, tricked Kousei into signing up for a competition
- Was it deflection or concern when she scolded Kousei about his playing?
- Witnessed the depths of how far Kousei had sank and what she was intruding upon

Tsubaki:
- A pushing force, a catalyst
- Knows Kousei inside and out
- Will she confront Kousei about his mom?
- Tsubaki is not ready to admit her feelings regarding Kousei
- Cloudy eyes and darker pallate, representing her beginning to feel down or sad
- Losing interest in her highschool boyfriend once he returned intrest
- Does not understand how she feels
- Looking for reasons to not 'like' Kousei
- Is it that Tsubaki is mourning the loss of her relationship with Kousei as they are drifting apart or is the fact that they're drifting apart is causing Tsubaki to confront the way she feels about Kousei?
- Didn't even make it past regionals
- Likely feeling isolated as her friend Kaori is growing close with Wateri and Kousei
- Missing a support structure

Watari:
- Surface level is fairly shallow, inside he is sage-like with good advice
- Does Watari care for Kaori?
- Plays netball, likes girls, gave an advice once
- Understands the connection between Kousei and Kaori
- Terrible but is trying to instill good values in Kousei

Predictions:
- Potential to be Drew's favourite TSW to date
- Was Kousei's mom change in personality when she fell ill
- Does Kaori have a tumor?
- Will they keep the relationship between Kousei and Tsubaki familial or will it become romantic
- Who's shoulder will Tsubaki cry on?
- Kousei won't win the Tournament arc

- Finally recognizing the others though there performances
- His true isolation is revealed
- Context to the abuse
- First time standing up for himself, was the last words to his mother
- Takashi and Igawa pushing Kousei along as good rivals should
- Learning to see the emotions
- What is the source of Kousei's mental blocks, and this is a self punishment
- What support did he have when he needed it?
- It's not your fault Kousei

Kaori:
- Eye colour and emotional
- Just a little sick
- The Manic Pixie Dream girl, grounds Kousei


Tsubaki:
- The one to always push Kousei even as a kid
- Learning that She can also rely on Kousei

Watari:
- A great Captain by being stoic and supportive on their losses


The rivals:
- Iza Takashi
-- More important to be on stage with Kousei, then go to Europe
-- How a Rival can teach you better than any teacher
-- Will inspire Kousei similarly to Kaori
- Emi Igawa
-- Lost all passion until seeing Kousei on the bill
-- Anger and Passion
-- In Love with Kousei?
-- Kousei disappearing left her feeling rejected
-- "I abandoned all of my other infinite possibilities and chose..."

Kousei:
Demonstrates that he has been listening and acting on Kaori's advice
Kousei's feelings and state of mind expressed through his piece.  Someone writhing in agony, a child pounding on the keys and even saw a mischievous little child.
Expressed the image in his mind, a spring day with Kaori asleep 
Caused his "rivals" Igawa and Takeshi to confront themselves in the middle of his piece
- Takeshi confronting the fall of his hero
- Igawa calling for Kousei to return home
Huge step to ask Seto to teach him piano
This time around he is actually involving himself in the music scene

Kaori:
Grounding force for Kousei
Saw the image in Kousei's music
Does not tip-toe around Kousei's feelings
Chose the music piece for their shared performance because she know it meant something to Kousei
Eyes continue to change colour, either based on emotional state, who she's with or medication state

Seto:
Knew about the abuse of Kousei but was unable to do anything
Maternal instinct towards Kousei
Guilt has prevented her from reaching out to Kousei
Pushed Kousei to become a pianist
Organizing or recontextualizing the events of Kouse's childhood
Providing reasoned and stable emotional support

Tsubaki:

Watari:
Opens up and shows character depth
Impacted by soccer match loss

Predictions/Questions:
Kousei is still a long way from being over his relationship with his mom
Seto becomes a maternal stand-in
Kousei will end up with Igawa because the other women in her life are all mother proxies
Drew doesn't want Kousei to play alone because it's being setup as being about 'them' and not 'him'

Events, though still unacceptable, begin to get recontextualized

Makes any excuse to not approach Kaori because it would also mean he's confronting himself and how he feels about her

Finally beginning to show how she feels about Kousei
Lying about the severity of her ailment to protect the feelings of her friends but also so that she can be treated like a normal girl
Illness is being made real to us

Seto:
Blames herself for Kousei's pain

Tsubaki:
Becoming very confused about how she perceives Kousei
Kousei is no longer immovable and is beginning to start his journey
Tsubaki's progression has halted, settled
Having a crisis of purpose
Tsubaki is at a difficult emotional precipice
Is comforted by the support she gives to Kousei
Finds music as competition for Kousei's affections
Is a poisoner

Igawa:
With Kousei beginning to move again she once again feels she will have a rival to chase

Takeshi Aiza:
Has a little sister!

Nagi Aiza:
Is a little sister!

Predictions/Questions:
Something much more emotionally impactful is coming

Kousei:
- Showing character growth through Nagi
- Reflected in how his teaching style started out harsh, untill Nagi and him share a moment
- Kousei showing his mischievous side, and being the one to change the peice and pace
- May have a lot of sorrow


Kaori:
- The eyes were almost always grey
- Most don't realize how serious Kaori's health issues are
- Kousei knows though
- Kaori playing at being a real girl
- She is clearly running through a bucket list
- She knows how what is happening to her is effecting Kousei
- Her spark and inspiration was lost
- Goes full circle with Kousei inspiring Kaori to start playing again
- Kousei brings the colour back to her world


Tsubaki:
- Strange that she doesn't pick up on why Kousei is having a hard time going to see Kaori
- Realizing that she can't be there for Kousei and questioning herself
- Odd that she doesn't seem to know Kousei
- She can be cruel and selfish (through her confusion)
- Kousei isn't there for her either (but that makes sense narratively)


Watari:
- Always the Sage
- Took over the actual support role from Tsubaki, and encourages Kousei


Seto:
- Her daughter is adorable Drew Decrees it
- Forcing Kousei to grow by making him have to go after Nagi
- Shows how she has grown since she couldn't be there for Kousei
- Trying to help Kousei get through his sorrow, while dealing with her own fears and guilt

Nagi Aiza:
- Oni-san = Hero
- Very similar to Kousei, and her arc reflects this
- Helps show Seto's growth as well, with Seto actually being able to step in during her panic
- Her practicing for the show was very similar to Kousei when he was practicing for the show with Kaori
- Good reflection when Nagi realizes how nervous Kousei is as well
- Finally starts to understand her brother
- Needs to be shown how skilled she actually is


Takashi Aiza
- May need to find who he is as a musician with no Kousei to follow
- Gets the spark back from seeing Nagi


Predictions:
Will it be in Drew's top 10 Anime of all time?
The day pass shenanigans is a big sign of something bad about to happen (will make Drew feel bad)
