Distractions Tour - Liverpool 2014

I done did i a gig in Cologne, Germany 2014. Here it is. 

Live improvised gig using my brain, voice and the Beardytron5000 mk4. The mk4 features a drum machine of my own design which works by referencing an on-the-fly automatable 3d grid of 256 x 16 unique patterns which can be dynamically combined to produce unique drum pattern sequences switching at any point in the bar. It also features an Ableton/Massive based synth workstation controlled from lemur for ipad that has taken over a year to get from initial prototypes to gig ready awesomeness.

01 A Cheerful And Sunny Disposition

Kmag came round my yard and interviewed me for their website. So, using the Beardytron5000 mkIV, I made a 16 minute mix featuring entirely new music from my brain for them to stick at the end of the interview. It took me about 30 minutes to record it after which I erased the workings out and mastered it. Here it is. Enjoy. 

The Beardytron5000 is my live music-creation system which in mkIV, it's most recent iteration, now features the "Instant Drum Machine" a drum machine of my own creation, and immense Ableton-housed, multiple-instance NI Massive synth workstation featuring a midi looper and auto quantization mechanism.

i done a fing. It's not so much a track as a brief experiment in the capabilities of my new system, which is why the track doesn't really go anywhere. I was refining my presets and  just thought i should probably press record. My new gear, built in C++ by Dave Gamble of DMG Audio, and furnished with 15 instances of Sugarbytes' Turnado is the most streamlined music creation tool ever designed. This track has not been edited and took just 5 minutes to make.

an experiment

Experimental track made with my new live-looping production suite developed in C++ by the genius Dave Gamble of DMG Audio and in association with Sugarbytes. 

This track took about 7 minutes to make and is basically a live take which has been edited slightly to maintain pace. 

I will be releasing the looper as an app some time next year.
