Jecksel makes a triumphant return to the Steyoyoke imprint with this masterful and hauntingly atmospheric, EP, “Niflheim”. This carefully crafted ethos brings about a sense of suspended animation ensnaring the senses and compelling the listener into a dreamlike state.

The voyage commences with “Niflheim”. Crafted around soul-stirring horn leads and a dark penetrating bass groove, the title track sets the broody ethereal tone. “Einherjar” is a microcosm of this anthology where the EP absolutely takes full flight. Bounding through interwoven regretful horns, the lush soundscapes have you yearning for the reemergence of the sacred and grounding groove. The conclusion of the EP, “Nordland”, is a highly textured breaks tune with detailed emotive atmospheric pads wrapped around a heartbeatlike poly rhythmic groove; softly easing the listener back into reality.

Jecksel’s “Niflheim” EP takes the listener on a weightless journey through wistful and boundless empyreans only to beam them to the shadowy and familiar depths of purgatory. Steyoyoke and “complex simplicity” at their finest.

Together all these cultures and backgrounds combine to form the soundtrack of Summer and good vibrations.

The latest release on 3rd Avenue welcomes Sudnode back to the label with three remixes for his previously released track "Levels".

Since partnering up with label boss Madloch in 2018 the majority of Subnode's productions have come courtesy of Sound Avenue or it's affiliates Crossfade Sounds and 3rd Avenue; while his own Caapi Records imprint has served as a landing spot for the finest in electronica and experimental sounds. To dig crates in 2023 is to explore an electronic ecosystem beyond taxonomising; there are now more tracks on Beatport than there are people in Hong Kong, and (as in nature) specialisation is the key to a producer’s success. Brothers Hayden and Barton Strom (Out of Sorts) understand this, having perfected a brawny but restrained style of house across their post-Antix career. Their latest release with T-Bone for Beat & Path presents the essentials of this sound with time-won self-assurance.

‘The Key’ centres around a confident vocal line from T-Bone, a Kiwi producer and vocalist who brings a blues influence to this extraplanetary expedition. With twenty-seven years in the underground electronic scene, Out of Sorts have the dexterity to try unconventional approaches; here they’ve begun with acoustic stems recorded by T-Bone on an Akai multitrack, manipulating them into a spacey early-morning house piece. The result is as much a song as it is a track, an exquisite electronic sculpture covered in acoustic fingerprints, and will appeal to lovers of Innervisions and the ecstatic gravity of the South African deep house sound.

The B-side is from Jamie Stevens, a man whose release schedule is absolutely sprawling this year (with releases on Balance, Bedrock and Selador in March alone). His mature, restrained signature is immediately audible on this seven-minute remix, which is too certain in its source material to bother with dramatic builds and drops. A few meticulously chosen elements and an irresistible groove; good dance music requires nothing more.

Sol Selectas presents the 1st solo EP from frequent collaborator Memo Rex, a producer who resides in San Diego California. The Vulcan EP is 4 original tracks, with 1 song being a collaboration with PALOMA. “Vulcan” kicks off the adventure with pulsating rhythms, Worldly melodies,  and tribal percussion. 

“Muladhara” is a collaboration between fellow San Diego artist PALOMA. This Afro House excursion is rooted in the deepest depths of the jungle, with the sound of birds chirping, tribal chants, and strong percussion, over expansive bass sounds. 

"Vesta," the third offering on the EP, radiates with cosmic energy and celestial beauty. With its expansive percussive frequencies and transcendent melodies, the track inspires listeners to embark on a journey of spiritual enlightenment, and self empowerment.
Closing out the EP is "Resonance," a spellbinding piece that resonates with the divine essence of the universe. Through its hypnotic rhythms and euphoric crescendos, the track transports listeners to a spiritual state of ecstasy and connection. 

The artwork by Helia Jamali takes us to the deepest transcendental volcanic landscape upon which the mind travels.
