Other Sepctrum is a producer who has been on our radar for some time now, we proudly present his debut Boey Project, a 2 Part Release, starting with the "Left Brain" EP.

The left side of the brain is responsible for controlling the right side of the body. It also performs tasks that have to do with logic, such as in science and mathematics. Other Spectrum perfectly emulates the work of the Left brain in this stripped back and intelligent 4 track EP.

Hypnotic from the get go "Gre Chka" captures the attention with crisp production, interesting Pattern work and a Warm Sub.

     "Get Over Here You Bastard" rolls out with a slick steppin' minimal beat and lovely ragga sample. 

     "Chain Reaction" then takes a different tone with hints of early Techstep infused with Neuro inspired structure and sounds this stripped roller merges multiple sounds and eras in what is a perfect penultimate track.

    "Bucklwheatscope" closes the "Left Brain" EP and prepares us for part 2 of the release "Right Brain" EP . .

Hybrid links with Replicant for ‘Tell You’ - a tonal affair of bass reverb, dreamy pads and elements of ‘94 jungle that wasn’t be a miss at your local warehouse rave. Battling with sleep deprivation is certainly a cause for concern and ‘Insomnia’ drives these issues home by way of a ton of sonic twists and turns, bassline risers and sneaky breakbeats.

Altering your sense of direction in the form of ‘Push’. An off key, out of step beast that would certainly fit with the original 3 beat style. Experimental to the core and a tough beast to tame. ‘Watch This’ delivers a special treat in the form of real low end sub bass carefully wrapped around Serial Killaz style vocal stabs, delay soaked keys and Bristol influenced beats.

My Selecta finishes off the battle alongside DJ Hybrid for a final round of trap influenced snare hits that will no doubt cause an influx of head nodding, side shaking and brain vibrating motions. It’s pitch bent low end provided an additional blow to the skull. Finish him.

Jimmy relaunched Beat Assassins in 2016 having had previous success between 2006 & 2010 with Joe Lenzie of Sigma.

Since then Beat Assassins have had over 20 releases on various drum & bass labels such as Viper Recordings, Jungle Cakes, Dope Ammo, Gorilla Warefare, Wonky Goose and Jimmy's own label Mofo Recordings.

A number of high-profile drum & bass acts have remixed Beat Assassins. These include; Mob Tactics, Dope Ammo, TREI, Toronto Is Broken, DJ RAP, Kursiva, Giganti & Phibes. The Home Grown remix by Phibes became a Global Beatport number 1. Something that has only been achieved by a handful of drum & bass producers.

Beat Assassins also remixed UK festival superstars, the Dub Pistols. A massive track called Addict which was the title track of their LP also released on Jungle Cakes.    

Beat Assassins signature sound is vocal-driven drum & bass resulting in some collaborations with high profile artists such as Ragga Twins, Rider Shafique, Miss Stylie, Scarlett Quinn & Sifu Chan, to name a few.

In 2024 the Beat Assassins relentless drum n bass output continues with a track called Madd Ting and Roll Deep alongside a remix of Groove Armada’s Superstylin.
