However, the new compilation 'Esprit de Quartier' EP on french Cartes Record proves that there are hidden depths to the French dance music scene, that it's not all lasers and glitter guns. Welcome to this atmospheric journey, welcome to this energetic journey. For this first compilation they invite 7 french artists. 
It is in the pursuit of cooperation that this adventure takes shape. Let yourself to train in an abstract dance, which causes unconscious movements, is associated with fraternal dance and neighborhood spirit.
Amour Noir is a call to arms, a kick drum to incite raids on the European coastline. A snare which sounds like the smashing of stained glass and pulsating trance samples which out-In Aeternam Vale and add throb to the gristle. Atomic bomb.

This is an edit I have meant to do for ages but never quite managed to finish in a way that both got me satisfied while respecting the vibe and the 'craziness' of the original track. Then, after quite a lot of work and endless revisions I seem to have nailed it at last.

DDAA is a french indie experimental band that released their first material in 1979.

This particular track is a live version recorded at a venue called l'Ubu in Rennes (France) in 1983 and later distributed on tape. The original tape is really hard to find but you can still listen to it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jD5CBeGrWQ (contrary to what is indicated it is *not* from the "Live at Acapulco" release!)

The latest edition of our free download series finds Ezequiel Arias returning for his fifth appearance. Hailing from Cordoba, the Argentinean artist sits amongst progressive music’s elite, with releases on Anjunadeep, Replug, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden highlighting his discography, along with support from the genre’s premiere tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. In past installments of our series Ezequiel has taken to editing and remixing iconic tracks from 16 Bit Lolitas and Active Child. Looking back across electronic music’s history once again, the Cordoba resident now unveils his edit of Sasha’s memorable remix of Unkle’s ‘In A State’. Released in 2003 on Universal Music, before eventually being featured on the first edition of Sasha’s acclaimed ‘Involver’ mix series, the British DJs epic take on the track still resonates strongly today. Now as we kick off a new year in our free download series we’re pleased to present Ezequiel’s fresh update on the track. Finding favour with Hernan Cattaneo, Jody Wisternoff and more, it’s been in demand as a result and we’re happy to offer it as an exclusive free download to you. Enjoy!
