STOP SLEEPING

Punk flunky, indie drop out, marginally mathy, spacewards or maybe just some 80s fan, Stop Sleeping isn't just a synth and guitar wizard, but also an extremely versatile american singer who can emulate different vocal styles with impressive ease. BROKEN GENERATION's driving force is the Johnny Rotten-style vocals of Stop Sleeping and I believe this is the first of many collabs in the near future. This is a reinterpretation/remix of the song BOTOX BABIES by the duo The Dream Eaters. The original version is only 12 seconds long, and even with that short duration it's absolutely brilliant. So in November 2024, I contacted Jake Zavracky via email, told him I couldn't get Botox Babies out of my head and asked if I could do a remix of the song. In a completely irresponsible act, he agreed (lol) 😄 So I called in the talented singer Marc Freak to do the vocals and you know, when you put two guys together who like B-52, you can't come up with anything that doesn't have a strong B-52 influence.

Well, Jake, the only thing I know is that it's too late to regret it. 😄

This instrumental track - where Tom gives his voice a break to focus on production and mixing while Mary shreds her fingers to the bone - came to life by accident (and it was very improvised, so forgive the screams and the random nonsense) while we were working on a completely different song (something along the lines of our recent "I've Lost Her to a Previous Version of Me", just to give you an idea... and a little sneak peek).
