I’ve been writing a lot of heavy, emotional songs lately, so I felt like doing something a little fun (and slightly unhinged). Sometimes you just need to scream into the void about laundry.

A sock. A loss. A breakdown in the spin cycle of life.

This whimsical folk-pop meltdown tells the tragic tale of a missing left sock and the emotional spiral that follows. Part musical theatre, part goblin-core ballad, it’s a soft-shoe soliloquy for the barefoot and emotionally unstable.

🧺 Themes: Sock grief, dramatic overreaction, unresolved laundry trauma

It may be obvious that this piece has its roots in Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" Op. 27 No. 2.  My first iterations were much closer to the original but I have now wandered far afield.  Sincere thanks to you for listening.  I'm honored.

The original title was just “Catchy Tune,” but honestly it sounded pretty lame, so we decided to change it to “Solstice,” since we completed it on June 21!
