Alien Architect/Cohen Asher (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a multidisciplinary artist, working with music, visual arts, and poetry. He has recorded several records, with a lyrical quality associated with MC. 

In 2014 Alien Architect published the experimental hip hop album Arteria.

Alien Architect is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist known for mixing hip hop and poetry. He has played shows alongside such acts as Wu Tang Clan, Rahzel, Badfish, Wax, Slightly Stoopid, Shwayze, Black Landlord, Ursula Rucker, Schooly D, Sam Roberts Band, Thievery Corporation, Jaguar Wright, Blackstreet, and Jef Lee Johnson to name a few. Alien Architect also recorded a song with Gift of Gab from Blackalicious in 2012.

Alien Architect has played all over the streets and venues of Philadelphia, across Mexico, Egypt, Israel, Spain, Paris, and many other cities across the United States.

Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen is an award-winning composer, arranger, musician, conductor and producer from Finland. He is known as the leader of the 17-member Ricky-Tick Big Band, jazz sextet Dalindèo and his latest ensemble, Valtteri Laurlell Nonet.

Laurell is the founder and leader of Ricky-Tick Big Band, a 17-member jazz orchestra known for its eclectic productions. The Ricky-Tick Big Band & Julkinen Sana production with three top-notch Finnish rappers released three albums, achieved unprecedented chart success and performed in festivals and sold out shows all over Finland between 2013-2019.

He is also the leader of jazz-sextet Dalindèo, who’s 2013 album "Kallio" won the Emma Award (Finnish Grammy) for "Jazz Album of the Year" and was nominated for the annual Teosto prize of the Finnish Composers' Copyright Society. In 2022 Laurell recieved the prestigious Ted Curson prize at Pori Jazz Festival.

 

Laurell specialises in big band music and conducting. He has been a guest conductor for UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra on numerous occasions, and UMO has commissioned multiple arrangements from him, including a full 60+ min piece “A Nocturnal Affair” in 2015 with saxophonist Timo Lassy as guest solist. In 2022 Laurell was the artistic director and conductor for the production UMO feat. Ringa Manner at Helsinki Festival.

Eclectic by nature, Valtteri’s musical interests reach far beyond jazz and he has collaborated with for example PK Keränen from the legendary indie rock band 22 Pistepirkko and with Finland’s top rapper Paleface.


Valtteri Laurell has studied music in Helsinki, Paris and Rotterdam and holds a Master’s Degree in jazz composition from Sibelius Academy, Helsinki. Originally a guitar player, he also plays piano, synthesizers and electronics.  He is currently residing in Berlin and Helsinki.

It all started in Detroit thru a chance encounter with a gospel studio musician 
 prompted an invitation to BARAK RECORDS and worked as head engineer, studio musician and co produced toured and recorded tracks for Slum Village, 
J Dilla, Phat Kat and Dwele. 

Along with credits with Slum Village producing and engineering the 2002 Capital Records release (Trinity past present and future) Billboard hit Tainted and Disco featured on the Dave Chappell show (Comedy Central) and currently
The Phantashihen Vier ‘REKORD’ (Sony records). 

Today Vernon is completing his most adventurous project entitled (Generations) with artist from all over the globe and continues producing projects for other artists such as Paul Randolph (Jazzanova) Mike Michaels (Supersonic) Joel Holmes, Melli P  and J.Lamotta in addition to collaborations with Koma Electronics in Berlin presenting beat composing & synth workshops.
