Umoja Rise grew out of early morning jam sessions with Roots River, when the drums found that heartbeat and the melody opened into something bright. We focused on Umoja because unity is the ground everything grows from. The song carries Holyoke’s spirit, the glow of the first candle, and that shared sense of beginning again. It’s reggae shaped by tradition and community, built to move gently but with purpose.

Kwanzaa begins with unity. Umoja Rise brings that message forward with Roots River’s steady groove and a candle’s first light. A song for Holyoke and every community finding strength together.
