What and who is A Darker Wave?
We are a duo (jacki-e & p-mac) who present A Darker Wave every week only on NLive Radio, Circl8 Radio, Echo Radio & Chill Lover Radio. We put the show together in our home studio. The show is streamed worldwide on the internet. Each show is posted on our Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Hearthis.at, Podbean and You Tube pages once it has been streamed and presents the best in new techno releases.
We also play gigs as A Darker Wave and we have played at events in Germany and all over the UK.
The music we play is techno, tech house, deep house and anything else we like enough to include in the show.
Each show is 2 hours long. In the first hour we go into the mix with our featured EP of the week and the best of the new releases.
In the second hour we invite new and upcoming DJs to come onto the show and do a guest mix.

Why are you called A Darker Wave?
Dark Wave was first used in the 1980s to describe a dark and melancholy variant of new wave and post-punk music and was first applied to UK musicians such as Bauhaus, Joy Division, Sisters of Mercy, Cocteau Twins, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode and Anne Clark. It was also used to describe artists who combined music with performance art, such as Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, who challenged and explored the darker and obsessive sides of the human condition.

A lot of techno takes its spirit and ethos from this music, Listen to Throbbing Gristle or Cabaret Voltaire and you can hear the industrial sounds which are a staple of techno music today.

Techno is the outsider of electronic dance music, the punk of today's modern music scene. As Dave Clarke said in an interview with Mixmag, " Techno is edgy. Techno will challenge you......it's the real dark art."

Our radio show, in presenting the best in underground techno and deep house music, and in giving an opportunity for new, up and coming DJ's and producers, is providing an outlet for new techno, which is best described as being the new wave of modern dance music.

Not just a new wave, but with it's incessant bass rumblings, synthesiser drones, pounding drums, melodic top notes and eerie, distorted vocal samples, techno, in all its forms, is a backdrop to and a critique of our post-industrial, consumerist society, one in which our actions are observed 24/7, our democratic freedoms are threatened by our very own governments and our rights to do, think and act as we please are under ever increasing scrutiny. Techno really is A Darker Wave.

When we were listening to music in the 60’s and 70’s, before the electronic tentacles of technology infiltrated the world, we often thought, whilst listening to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Hawkwind, Captain Beefhart, New York Dolls and Roxy Music, where would music go to in the future? It could never be what was being portrayed in the science fiction movies of the time. Now we know. It can be anything. When we have a recording studio in our own home which is more powerful and versatile than anything available back then, we now know music can be anything and go anywhere. It is only the spark of our imaginations, or lack of it, that holds us back. On our laptop computers we have the capabilities that many artists back then would have given their right arms for. It’s for the uniqueness of the artist to express themselves to be able to stand out from the deluge of music available. Finding those gems is the modern day equivalent of crate digging and when you do, it makes it all worthwhile. Long live music!!!!

Julie Petrecca was born in 1981 in Montreal. Since childhood, Julie is introduced to music as she grows up practically in the recording studio own by her father. He quickly transmits his passion and his interest for the world of music to his daughter.

In her late teen, she discovers Electronic music and her passion for music grows even more. All these years of musical culture and the well kept connection to this particular universe, Julie's taste develops in several categories of Electronic music from Underground Deep House, Organic House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno, Techno ... nevertheless Julie prefers the underground sounds ;)

Since February 2015, Julie host her own weekly show ‘’The So What! Radioshow’’ presenting DJs and DJ/Producers from all around the world. She’s also involved in her Family radio, ‘’Radio Webphré’’

DJ for various occasions till the age of 25, I always loved electro music till my life changed and turned to be  more demanding, leading me to stop mixing . However, I stayed attentive to the world of electronic music, and more specifically to the « lounge » and « deep house » style played at the Buddha Bar, which remains for me  a source of inspiration.  
Allowing me to be in  direct contact with thousand of people, the 2018  and 2019 technoparades gave me the opportunity  and motivation to go back to the turntables, while trigerring my return into the electro-music world. I was then able to mix sounds accumulated for years, turning the whole thing into an incredible experience.  I now produce my own pieces of Deep House,  Organic House, Ethno Deep House, Tech House, and Lounge, using tones reminiscent of  the Middle and Far East, Eastern Europe and India. I started DJing in the early 90s and bought my first Technics 1200er when I was 16. At the right time I was playing in a small club called Grooveclub and we could feel the beginning of the house and techno scene in Germany. Many sleepless nights followed. As a visitor, I traveled through the club scene in Germany and visited clubs like Distillery, Muna, Tresor, Aufschwung Ost, Mach 1 and so on. This inspired me to organize my own small parties as an organizer, booker and manager. At the end of the 90s I gave up my most important hobby, a mistake I later found. In 2016 I started DJing again and I'm looking for the opportunity to perform in a club with 100 to 300 people or a good radio show. At the end of 2020 I started producing a few small tracks and am looking for a label that will give me the chance to show what I can. We'll see what comes next and I'm in good spirits. Have been playing music some years ago in the best discotheques, clubs and events in Gran Canaria, some clubs in Madrid and Bilbao (Spain), and after having been away from the music world for many years, he returns to the music scene as a producer as well., having signed his first arrangement with Irma Records and GNE music, and he just sign his first contract with Sunexplosion Records. In this moment he regent two channels in Soundcloud and Mixcloud, his B2B space and his Superdeep channel and he just be resident in Live Radio and Easy Groove Radio. He is also superior technician in creativity and advertising techniques and Art Director. 


His musical styles began with House and Garage, until today where he develops in all styles within house (deep house, tech house, progressive house, melodic house, etc) some techno, downtempo, organic, etc.

Bokaric is a Serbian-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer who has been active in the electronic music scene since 2018. His sound centers around hypnotic techno in its many forms, defined by intense synths, prominent drums, and a steady, groovy low-end foundation. While embracing modern, cutting-edge sound design, he thoughtfully explores varying levels of tension and sub-genres throughout his sets and productions, which always hit differently. His versatility is evident - sometimes leaning into minimalistic and groovy sounds, while at other times delving into intense, melodic, or even hard and raw atmospheres.

In addition to his work as an artist, he is the founder of KHOLEKTIV, a techno-oriented record label, podcast series, and event platform based in Berlin. KHOLEKTIV's vision is to spotlight and support emerging, undiscovered talents, as well as established names in the scene - featuring them on the label and in the podcast, with the goal of bringing them together at KHOLEKTIV events. The focus is purely on the quality of the music - unaffected by hype, trends, or similar distractions. More than a platform, KHOLEKTIV is a community: a space where artists and audiences can connect, make friends, and grow together. Its events reflect a safe, judgment-free space where everyone who appreciates authentic techno and brings good energy and values is welcome - regardless of their beliefs or background.
