René Koestler Angrand, né le 6 mai 1985, alias KOESTLER LE TECK est un rappeur d’Amérique du Nord d’origine haïtienne. Il a grandit à Babylone quarante-cinq minutes de Manathan dans l’état de New York la grosse pomme. De retour sur la feuille d’érable la réalité de la vie pris un goût amère. Père autoritaire comme Papa Doc et mère docile comme Michaëlle Jean, le gangster en KOES prenait forme. Du clan Wu Tang à Gangstarr le rap jeu lui confère une échappatoire pour sa rage. Rage d’être si bien élevé et d’être niqué par un système mené par l’oseille. La vie dans la rue ne joue pas il faut un toit pour dormir et un pain à manger. Personne ni échappe. KOES su se sortir du pétrin et des Charybde en Scylla de ce monde. Son arme…ses textes….son poing américain….sa zik…..son viseur braqué sur l’étude de la rue et du système. Après un faux départ avec des frangins KOES devient membre du mouvement LVA ENTERTAINMENT dirigé principalement par nul autre que Maze Le Patron. KOESTLER devient alors non seulement auteur-compositeur-interprète, ingénieur de son mais aussi homme d’affaire.

Back on the maple leaf the reality of life took on a bitter taste. Authoritarian father like Papa Doc and docile mother like Michaëlle Jean, the gangster in KOES was taking shape. From the Wu Tang clan to Gangstarr the game rap gives him an escape for his rage. Rage to be so well brought up and to be screwed by a system led by sorrel. Life in the street does not play, you need a roof to sleep in and bread to eat. No one escapes. KOES knew how to get out of trouble and the Charybdis in Scylla of this world. His weapon…his texts….his brass knuckles….his zik…..his viewfinder trained on the study of the street and the system. After a false start with brothers KOES becomes a member of the LVA ENTERTAINMENT movement led mainly by none other than Maze Le Patron. KOESTLER then becomes not only a singer-songwriter, sound engineer but also a businessman.

He's Been active in the Montreal scene since he was 15 years old producing and rapping with groups such as "Royal Hill" and later formed the group "Bagdad Musik". His career peak was when he produced a beat for platinum artist and french rapper "BOOBA" (Top Niveau)

Passionate about music, Uppercut kicked off his journey behind the turntables at a groovy age of 17, laying down his unique house vibes that became the talk of the town in Montreal's buzzing nightlife.

Fuelled by his infectious energy and spellbinding beats, UPPERCUT swiftly climbed the ranks. In the early 2000s, he set up shop at MP3, part of the Millennium Complex, while spinning his magic in the coolest Montreal house joints. He also snagged a spot at the Red Lite Afterhours in Laval, where he performed as the headliner and continued to perfect his craft. UPPERCUT keeps the crowd grooving with every appearance at the exclusive Karma and La Folie, not forgetting his killer opening set for Roger Sanchez at Terrasses Bonsecours.

Endowed with a keen musical instinct and event production talent, UPPERCUT established himself as a resident DJ and general manager at the esteemed Circus in 2013 for more than a decade. He continues to set ablaze the best clubs in the Montreal scene, such as Beach Club, New City Gas, Muzique, Mansion, Opera Nightclub and many others.

As a producer, Uppercut has been responsible for more than 100 original tracks and remixes such as “In the Mood”, “Life is a Rhythm”, “Secret Society” and “Enjoy Me”. In the spring of 2008, he was honored to produce the fifth volume of the official Red Lite series CDs under Absolut Records (Spinnin’ Records), alongside fellow Montreal DJ Jester, which became sold-out in a few days in all the HMV stores across the country. On Youtube, his production "Enjoy Me" under the Spinnin' Records label has accumulated over 203,500 listens, confirming his top position.

Over the years, Uppercut has continued his meteoric rise, contributing to KULT Records' remix series of "Gotta Be Me" by Steve "Bear" Sas, alongside illustrious DJs such as John Creamer, Stephane K, Dave Vasquez, Danny Buddah Morales, and Silva. His "Dj Uppercut Bounce Remix" of Omar "Cito" Pérez's song "Sueño mio" has also received strong support from DJs like Peter Rauhofer, Peter Presta, Peter Bailey, DJ Vibe, Eddie Cumana, and Roger Sanchez.

UPPERCUT has also stood out at prestigious festivals such as Bal en Blanc (Montréal), Escapade (Ottawa), Piknik Family in Montpelier (France), BPM Festival (Playa del Carmen), WMC (Miami), Riverside (Montréal), Resolution (Montréal), Resolution (Québec), Sensation (Montréal) and many others, sharing the stage with legends like Tiesto, David Guetta, Carl Cox, skrillex, Deadmau5, Boris Brejcha, Tale of Us, R3HAB, Fredde LeGrand, Dash Berlin, Roger Sanchez, Markus Schulz, Steve Angelo, and many others.
