Born in 1989, Worakls, who is in reality Kevin Rodrigues, is a French dj coming from Paris. He has begun to play music at 3 years old on piano, he has got some bands music of differents styles (rock, hard rock, bossa nova) during his teensage. He begin to produce electronic music when he was 18 years old.

 The meet of Eric Prydz lead him to be a DJ "This is him, or else his music, who make me understand that electronic music can be a very elaborated style and overall more than a punchbag". He stopped his studies completely, and work relentlessly on music, that could be more than 15hours per day. He begin to be know with his first Ep "unity", he was quote by Umek as one of the best new comer in 2009 of the minimalist techno scene.

He lunched the label "hungry music" with his mates N’to & Joachim Pator in february 2014 so the story just started...

In anticipation of Cityfox Transcend: The Brooklyn Mirage Season Closing event, this house mix sustained by classically distorted drum beats and whimsical, yet menacing, spacey synth sounds — is a spontaneous sound odyssey we’ve come to expect from @bebetta.

What’s in a name? In Bebetta’s case, mystery, motivation, and wordsmith magic. After being nudged by friends to play beyond their casual dinner parties, Anika Schnabel bypassed a career in design, began vinyl DJing at first, then birthed her producer and DJ persona, Bebetta in 2008. The name sounds like what it means — a constant reminder to be better, to push oneself, to dig deeper for meaning and creativity, all the while delivering a finished track where you can hear the spontaneity, whimsy, and fun of the process behind making it. It’s this admirable ambition and carefree, yet ever voracious curiosity that has been a driving and enduring force behind her very first track, her wildly popular scene-bending visual podcast ‘Bebetta in Bed,’ and her most recent releases.

Here in this Foxcast, Bebetta — a classically trained visual storyteller weaves together a sound story that starts elated and hopeful and gets deeper, darker, and more complex with progression. Laid over classic techno and house beats and synth grooves tropical you hear steel drum tribal house accents which somehow segue seamlessly into melodic tech-house tracks mixed to make you catch the beat and release your vibe throughout the entire recording.

Bremen’s Bebetta is a playful, colourful and charming personality who likes to inject everything she does with a sense of fun. Her goal is to make people happy away from the troubles of every day life. In order to make this happen, she has years of DJing and music collecting experiences, that she calls upon not only in the usual Club or Festival, Bebetta also puts on her pajamas and streams regularly her famous Live-Session ‘Bebetta In Bed’. In this video podcast you can listen to Bebetta’s actual favorite tracks and discover pillow fights with other artists like Super Flu while playing ‘bed2bed’. Take a cup of tea, relax and be part of it! 

Her considered sound touches on house and tech with a real focus on melody, driving drums and emotional sensitivity and the DJ’s own personality always manages to shine through in the sets she lays down. Similar vibes also pervade her own productions, which have been offered up by different labels including her homebase Monaberry. These standout releases are often full of inventive, off kilter tracks with hooky melodies, lush chords and original ideas a world way from the norm. 

Since 2008 she has been doing her thing with a name loosely taken from the English words ‘be better’. It’s all about community, about bringing people of all colour and creeds together and about freeing up minds and engaging them on a natural and spiritual level. She pours all her focus into her music, but also into design for her merchandise and the beautiful covers of her musical releases. As such she is a warm and creative soul who simply wants to connect with people in any way she can.
