Kellerkind steps up to the plate with Subzero, a slice of cavernous dub tech. Breathy vocals and sparse ethereal elements set a dreamy mood. Underlined by smooth piano chords, the vocal develops into a full fledged hymn that is both emotive and mesmerising. For his second take, the Swiss producer embarks on a techno tinged journey. Opting for distorted synths and a stomping bassline, he aptly crafts a near dungeon-like atmosphere only sweetened by a lush female vocal. Teaming up with Sven, they offer up Shakti Pan, a meeting point between tribal infused percussion and deep-set riffs. Hollowed out drums and bells chimes touch on chorus vocals and manage to create a highly immersive experience, rounding off the release on an uplifting note.

In the height of the northern hemisphere summer, Andre Sobota turned up the volume with his outstanding "Unmute" EP. A regular on Proton and Particles, Sobota's work is now revisited courtesy of remix from a quartet of Australian, Argentinean and Mexican talents.

Australian artists, Gavin Griffin and Matty Doyle have ridden the crest of a sonic wave in recent months with their GMJ and Matter soubriquets. Highly accomplished individually, each has performed across their native Australia and internationally at a variety of clubs and festivals, not least at the globally renowned "Rainbow Serpent Festival". Both regulars on Proton Music with their individual work that includes the recent "Sovereign Reality" and "We Are Dust" offerings, their combined work has seen May 2016's "Superposition" and June 2017's "Osmosis" demonstrate the duo's rare ability to craft a sparkling underground sound that is as unique as it is impressive. A December 2016 remix of Pete K is now followed by a second, in the shape of Sobota's title track. With a strong rhythmic narrative, the GMJ and Matter remix is replete with additional production material as the shimmering pads of the original are gently revealed alongside a floor-shaking groove and emotive melody. Building effortlessly the intelligent use of original components and striking new motifs, provide an epic offering that has enough class to attend any royal garden party.

From the sprawling Argentinean metropolis that is, Buenos Aries, Nicolás Rada is a man with a rich musical heritage to his name. An accomplished pianist and percussionist, his forays into dance music production have been highly impressive, influenced as he is by the sounds of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Nick Warren. A regular on the Balkan Connection family, over a century of production credits can be found against the main label and the 'South American' variant. Landmarked by 2015's debut full-length "Air Ports" album for BCSA, Rada has gone on to see his work featured on Superordinate, Soundteller and One Of A Kind. August 2017's twin-track "Sheremetyevo" EP has been a notable highlight for Particles as Nicolás Rada now debuts on Proton Music with his remix of "Unmute". Building in elegant fashion, a deep and dramatic bass note accompanies a strong kick and evolving percussive framework, before a muted arpeggio filters into aural view alongside textured pads. Reworking Sobota's original components in clever fashion, the sounds of the original resonate in listener consciousness as a raft of new material finds its way into the third movement in pulsating fashion.

Owner of Hookah Records and a range of live label showcases that have featured the likes of Kastis Torrau and Guy Mantzur, Hot TuneiK is a force to be reckoned with; the Mexican producer creating a plethora of production material that found itself featured on leading underground imprints. Thus, work for 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection and Dopamine Music are testament to an enduring sound that first debuted on House Tribe Records in 2012. An appearance on the "Spring Particles 2016" compilation showcased impressive original work and a trio of remixes now pave the way for a Proton debut. Taking a typically groove-laden approach to his interpretation of "Departure", the Hot TuneiK remix is wonderfully redolent in the shimmering melodic themes of Sobota's original as they rise and fall, accompanied by strong kick and rich percussive layers. Introducing a host of new melodic elements at the mid-point breakdown, Hot TuneiK's skill is to rework them into a seamless bend of original parts and additional production material that evolves elegantly into the third movement.

A trio of new remixes from GMJ and Matter, Nicolás Rada and Hot TuneiK have turned the volume on Andre Sobota's "Unmute" all the way to 11.

It's always an exciting moment when we receive music from label veteran LTN. He has been a consistent contributor to the label and has shown no signs of slowing down. This EP features three beautifully engaging progressive house tracks that perfectly represent the renowned musicality and emotional depth of LTN's music.

The title cut, "As Tears Go By," opens up with elegant vocal hums and soft arpeggiated plucks that lull us into a calming state of tranquility. Ambience fills our heads halfway into the track, coupling itself with pristine piano keys, in front of an ever-growing chord progression. The array of timbre synchronizes as the momentum of the track builds, encapsulating the majestic sound of LTN, with which we've all fallen in love over the years.

"Wondering Soul" cascades us into a mesmerizing depth of melodic bass, while also tugging at our core. We have no choice but to accept the deep, inducing tide and follow its flow into the warm unknown. Submerged basslines glide across each other, creating a melody that organically grows around us, while calmly relinquishing any fear or doubt of where we're headed in life.

"Serene Land" embodies a rather uplifting progressive house persona to close out LTN's EP. Delayed plucks and energetic piano chords are met with textures of bass synths and drawn out vocal callings. Shortly after the breakdown, LTN melodically builds the track, reintroducing each layer until eventually dropping us back into a seductive exhibit of melodic syncopation and groove.

Premiere: Kollektiv Turmstrasse - New Star [Musik Gewinnt Freunde]

Number twenty on San Francisco’s Manjumasi is the second solo artist EP from label co-founder atish. With the Warbler EP, atish presents a pair of original tracks that showcase strange and unique melodic stylings across two distinct energy levels, both featuring eerie and compelling string sounds with heavy use of creative effects. The title track, Warbler, has a solid late-night dance floor groove with a lush and haunting synth line anchoring the mid-range groove. Abyss takes things deeper, again veering into eerie sonic territories with vocal pads floating throughout the mix. This one sits in a more restrained rhythmic territory, well suited to the mood-setting opening hours.

The package features three top-notch remixes from a collection of very serious producers. Sweden’s Dorisburg turns in an incredibly heady interpretation of Abyss, with sparkling glassy pads juxtaposed against a bouncing synth bassline. Melodic master Rodriguez Jr. takes Warbler in a different direction, weaving the original elements into a tapestry of his signature arpeggios and synth crescendos. Lastly, Fort Romeau turns in an energetic Warbler mix, anchored by a long-building stabby bassline that develops into a real acid-tinged driver.

Nils Koenig returns to Kittball Records with a bang. After hitting the KITTBALL KONSPIRACY VOL. 3 in 2011 with his chilled deep house wave „Tonight“, he finally rejoins the family with „HERE & NOW“.

Koenig teamed up with Knopfloch Kombinat to bring a true to style melodic deep house tune to the decks around the globe. Knopfloch Kombinat (Vatti Schindel & Shawn Elter) is a duo based in Soest (Germany) with a great history of releases on Hamburgs Moonboutique Records. All three are united by a lifelong love for the scene. 

The story of HERE & NOW begins at the start of this turbulent year. Backstage on a festival, Nils and Schindel found themselves philosophizing over melodies and harmonies. The stars aligned as they decided to take it to the studio where, two days later, HERE & NOW was born.
