Joining us for episode number 96 this week is VCO (aka Artik)with a mix that can best be described as wild and freaky. After growing up in Gran Canaria in the south of Spain, VCO resettled to the cold industrial environment of Berlin, which was more suitable for his signature sound of unsettling ambiances and hammering percussion. Both sound techincian and electronic music purist, VCO's uncompromising approach has taken him to play at venues like Tresor and has also let him release on labels such as Monolith Records or Subsist. His versatility and his mixing skills allow him to play downtempo atmospheric opening sets on the one hand, and banging closing sets on the other. Enjoy this wild ride.

Evod joins for DifferentSound Podcast #190.

Alessandro Russo known as Evod, son of art, approached music at the age of 11, listening to Techno made in usa; Detroit Techno. Over the years he has played and published under various pseudonyms, but in 2015 he defined his artistic personality with a unique alias: Evod, the same name of his label. He has also published on Float Records and Singular Records. His mainly vinyl sets are characterized by strong and deep sounds, influenced by ambient sounds. The best known points of his career are his debut at Tresor (Berlin) and having joined with Jeff Mills, as his idol and source of inspiration. Defined as a new generation creator in Italy, his artistic evolution continues today.

Double Sound² presents the 12th podcast from the Moscow-based techno duo Poima. The duo consists of two producers: Alexander Lestyukhin and Semen Caspian Kid. Poima's distinctive feature is their live acts using analog synths.

2014 marked the starting point for Poima. They played their first live acts at Moscow clubs Solyanka and Arma17. This was followed by performances at Outline, as well as at the Superslet festival during the season closing of the Street Art Museum in Saint Petersburg. As a result, Poima was invited to perform at Boiler Room Moscow (http://boilerroom.tv/recording/poima/).

Poima's music is analog techno, characterized by the frequent repetition of structural elements, the use of synths, improvisation during live acts, and originality in their creations. Poima has managed to bring new ideas to techno music. Without a doubt, techno is being reborn in Russia, and Poima is a vivid example of this.

Rodrigo Corona Aka CRØG originally from CDMX, Mexico begins his project in 2022, in search of new sounds, creating hypnotic atmospheres, experimental sounds distinguished by textures and melodies in dark patterns in each of his releases. Which he has released on labels such as: KPLR Label, Subsist Records, Concepto hipnótico, Arido, Evil Groove, among others.

Lasha Jorjoliani is an often unreadable enigma, lending much of his time to his studio, curating line-ups and sharpening his performances in the booth. Although an undeniable figurehead of the scene, Voicedrone is by no means explicitly tied to co-founding FOLD. 

Four years on, Lasha is in an indestructible one-way lane, having developed a graphic, dynamic sound that we come together to experience. At his core is a passion to create and nurture community; this purpose is channelled into every event he plays - here at home, in Europe and beyond. Playing at influential venues and parties including his beloved UNFOLD has preserved his significance in the underground scene and his constant admiration from the FOLD family.

The phrase “leading by example” may be somewhat overused, but in the case of Voicedrone, such a statement is entirely appropriate.

Su creatividad, valentía y búsqueda incansable de nuevas formas de expresión son algunas de sus principales y constantes virtudes a la hora de hacer música. En la pista de baile es inteligente, sofisticado y tiene un profundo conocimiento de la estética sonora. Cada sesión es importante para él, ya que se propone inventar y renovar cada vez que sube al escenario, con una elección abrumadora por la variedad y accesibilidad de la música electrónica que ofrece, donde la calidad es lo más importante y la experiencia íntima es inolvidable.
