Hypnotic and driven, 'Smiling at Me' is a fizzling mix of heavy bass beats, reverberating horns and ghostly vocals, while 'Kind of Sense' rolls out chugging grooves and sythn laced drops. Expect to hear these tearing up the terraces of The White Isle over the coming months.

Be Crazy is closing out an adventures and exciting summer season with a bang. The label’s head honcho Jean Claude Ades presents us with two brand new originals and a re-worked version of his delightfully mesmerizing “Personal Stereo” track. 

The EP sets in motion with “Keep Us Together”, which features some choppy, lively percussion atop a bouncy tech-house groove. Its synth stabs are both enormous and driving, whilst the pitched vocals up top and down below complement the seductive low frequencies and slow-burning tempo flawlessly.

Up next is “Insane”, which combines lush, carefully crafted beats with pensive pads and delay trenched horns. The organic bassline provides the track with just the right amount of energy, while the arpeggiated moog-ish pattern pleasantly drills itself into the dancers eardrum.

The final track is the originally in 2011 released “Personal Stereo” composition, which underwent an almost complete make over. It is now built on a monstrous bassline that has a life of its own, the pervading mood is one of intergalactic beauty, with engaging synths twisting in the background and growling melodies vanishing off into the far distance. Key to it all, tough, is the added warmth that comes from Flunk’s breathtaking vocal sounds as they warp and pull over the splendid groove.

Murky and ominous, PAAX’s debut release on Be Crazy Music simmers, both musically and thematically, while the duo inhabit the gloom of their sounds like a Mexican Santero. Where even deeper minded electronic music producers privilege break downs and hands-in-the-air moments, PAAX emphasizes an incredibly tense ethnic vibe, that differs from everything else currently out there.

Their “Manglar” track starts things off on an extravagantly mystic note, with layers of sounds resembling ancient, percussion drenched trance festivities. At times PAAX even use found sounds - water flowing down a river - to provide their music with a much appreciated organic feel. The over ten minute long composition morphs and builds without being intrusive and is best enjoyed with your eyes closed! 

On “Albina”, the release’s second track, PAAX brilliantly navigates that spiky zone of combining cutting edge electronic dance music with world music elements. As soon as the various string instruments and afro-percussion layers start merging with the duo’s tight groove production and warm low frequencies, the track’s gravity becomes hard to deny.

Jean Claude Ades’ Be Crazy Music imprint starts the summer season of with a fresh release from Italy’s new power duo Klondique. They serve up two enthralling originals which are laid down with a driving and hypnotic vibe. Up first, Flat is a stripped back piece that features morphing pads and tangled FM bass stabs. It is six and a half deep, slow burning minutes of locked in eclectic house with a bag full of funk.
