Pavel Petrov announces the release of his debut album, Youth, on September 24th 2021 via his EXE Audio label. The stunning album is a genre-bending electronic journey that takes in chill out, deep house, tech, techno and more across 11 tracks, three of which are bonus tunes. 

"I was inspired to create this album at the New Year's after-party and started it on January 1st. Creating this album was an outlet in a time of uncertainty during the pandemic. It holds a message of hope, the power of music, and the desire to be reunited on the dance-floor.

Youth is the most versatile set of Petrov productions to date. It features the likes of Astro feat Kamalimani with its slick electro grooves and atmospheric vocals, standout single 'Independence,' which has been spun in many DJ sets around the world over the past year, and new single 'In Existence,' which was released with a video earlier this month. Further highlights on this great album include the playful 'Society' with its chunky drum funk and futuristic synths, and the beautifully melodic 'Molanda' with its spoken word vocals and epic chords.

From pulsing club bangers with rolling bass-lines and roaring synths, to chill-out sonic journeys, Youth is a most accomplished artistic statement from Pavel Petrov.

Maksim Dark - (Live DJ) Was born in the distant Ural, in Serov, Russia. He developed his passion for music in early adolescence.At 16 years of age he began to engage and experiment with music. He had plenty of ideas but was too young to afford expensive studio equipment and space. That didn't stop him from making his first 100 releases on the cheapest pair of speakers. Discovering the darker style of music for the first time, Maksim felt an intense adrenaline rush throughout his body. He was inspired to create something similar of his own, so he began by listening to all kinds of sounds while sitting in a room with the lights off, in a complete darkness. His own signature dark minimal sound was born. At present Maksim still passionately works on improving his technique, blending different styles and incorporating new elements to create a completely unique sound, a sound which does not have a name yet.

Manchester-based duo, OC & Verde, were two of last year’s best upcoming British producers, generating genre-wide acclaim through notable releases like ‘Maasai’ – released on Knee Deep In Sound. Ben O’Connor and Jon Verde are back with this groovy 2-piece EP in Solstice/Horizon, released on VIVa MUSiC.

Manchester had quite the year in 2016, as the likes of Solardo, Kaluki Music and The Warehouse Project stimulated it’s raving scene, like three decades previous. OC & Verde are one of many rising artists deriving from the city, and the pair regularly played at the infamous soap factory, Sankeys, prior to its unforeseen closure.

‘Maasai’ catapulted the pair to unforeseen sights following the endorsement of Pete Tong who named the track his Essential New Tune. However, other notable productions can be found on Suara’s Kitties Wanna Dance (Volume 7) in ‘Vertigo’ plus remixes released on Bedrock Records, Selador and Glasgow Underground.

The future is bright for these two talented producers having gained support from Hot Since 82, Coyu, Richy Ahmed, Denney and Solstice/Horizon is the perfect start to another promising year for OC & Verde.

Daniel Jaeger - Be A Better You EP

The first Criminal Bassline EP release comes from Daniel Jaeger. A young artist who is also part of the core-crew of Criminal Bassline Berlin. We are really proud to present his first solo EP!
Daniel Jaeger, born and raised in Berlin, started producing music at the age of 12 and started to DJ in clubs at 16. He joined the core-crew of Criminal Bassline in 2016 and quickly became one of the label managers. In 2017 he joined the well-known Berlin underground party series “Bordel des Arts” as resident DJ. This year, Daniel finally released his first track “Stampede” which came out on Bar 25 Music as part of the Bordel Des Arts Vol.1 compilation and he has already signed lots more music to other labels.
The title track is called “Be A Better You“ and is definitely one for the peak time on the dance floor. Packed with sub-frequencies, a deep and groovy bassline, punchy kick and a vocal which will stick in your mind for a while. The b-side track “Weird World“ also highlights his signature sound. This one is darker and more trippy. It touches your brain on a deeper level but is straight forward at the same time. Both tracks are definitely multitools for the dance floor!
Alongside the two originals, this EP includes two remixes of the title track “Be A Better You”.
The first remix is made by Criminal Bassline founder Mike Book who delivers a dark and edgy peak time tech-house interpretation. The second remix comes courtesy of “Patent Skills” label owner DJ Lion who adds a straight forward techno remake of the original to complete the package!
