Parakeet formed in 2011 and are fronted by Mariko Doi (YUCK) and James Llewellyn Thomas (The History of Apple Pie). They self-released their Tomorrow 7" in early 2012, their Shonen Hearts EP came after which led to a European tour with DIIV and support slots with the likes of Wavves and The Walkmen. After releasing a special compilation exclusive to Japan on the esteemed P-Vine label in 2013, accompanied by a tour including a sellout show at Tokyo's O-Nest, Parakeet are set to release the Pink Noise EP on limited pink cassette via Marshall Teller Records this June.

This is a limited first run on pink tape + DL code of all tracks.

Washing dishes at the back of the place, a downtrodden, sunken look upon my face. When I was ten, I didn't think - when I was 12, I didn't think I'd end up here washing dishes at the back of the place. But I guess that's how things go when you wish to see your lover, and you can't believe you're broke after throwing all your money at an old exhausted joke. But I guess that's how things go when you'd rather stay on life support than go live out your life. After saying - out loud - your plan to abort to an empty room, to yourself, nothing's gonna change. Nothing's gonna as long as you live.
