Bedrock return to their magnificent remix package for the VERSUS project of John Digweed & Nick Muir. The three CD album was a huge undertaking and as part of the package the Bedrock duo teamed up with a number of artists to create twelve exclusive new tracks. All label regulars, the likes of Pig&Dan, Carlo Lio, Henry Saiz and Marco Bailey joined the John and Nick in creating yet more iconic tracks for the label. 

The originals have lit up dance floors world wide since their release and we've already been treated to stunning reworks from the likes of Fairmount, Extended Play and King Unique. Today we revisit John & Nick's collaboration with Bedrock's UK party resident jozif, Groove Del Verano. 

Its a brace of mixes today too as the Bedrock duo revisit their own original to deliver a mighty brooding number that matches grinding beats with melodic synth melody. 

Next up Canadian All Day I Dream and Bedrock regular Maher Daniel who delights with his sun-drenched percussive take on Groove Del Verano, complete with birdsong.

Germany’s multitasking maestro Martin Eyerer, has (for more than 25 years) criss-crossed the globe as a highly respected DJ, whilst as a Producer he’s amassed a catalogue of more than 150 releases on the world’s most respected labels. His excellent ‘Frequencies’ collaboration with fellow countryman Patrick Chardronnet was an unmistakable highlight on John Digweed’s recent namesake 3xCD compilation. Now, Martin Eyerer returns, flying solo this time with a stunning Bedrock double-header. 

‘The Lake’ is an immediately infectious delight, as Martin steadily adds subtle layers of percussion to create a glorious, hypnotic, hip-swinging groove, before dropping everything back and introducing striking melodic stabs. Nothing is rushed, nothing is overdone, everything is perfectly arranged - the mark of a master producer at work. The creation of yet another irresistible groove by Martin, with a distinctive playful swing based around an evolving percussive masterclass, sees his second track ‘Rethink’ bounce sparsely underneath catchy synth motifs in supremely confident style.

As a pioneer producer, Martin Eyerer has evolved with the times, believing that being an artist means existing in a permanent state of change, development and evolution. This is clearly evident through his various Bedrock excursions and those on his own much respected Kling Klong label (founded in 2005 with partner Rainer Weichhold). 

After moving from Stuttgart to Berlin in 2012 Martin (along with Jade Souaid and Tassilo Ippenberger) also opened the Riverside Studios – a burgeoning hub of creativity that is home to many of the city’s finest talents. As an expert mixing and mastering engineer, he also relocated his own studio here and installed his restored (and legendary) Amek M 3000 Console that was formerly owned by Pink Floyd in the 70’s. It’s no wonder that he has become not only a legend in his own right, but also a producer that the worlds best artists are always keen to work alongside.

Chicola, the Israeli veteran producer, unleashes over two decades of music production experience on the excellent 'Could Heaven Be' LP following on from his recent Beatport number one hit single 'Yoav'.

Commenting on his debut album Chicola says 'Lost & Found is my home and Guy J suggested that it was time for me to do an album so of course it's a great honour for me. Its one of the finest labels around and I feel lucky to be able to release my music there.'

Belgium’s OGASM label continues to carve out a niche for itself with its third EP. This one again comes from the label boss PROPE, with remixes from a smart selections of names including Dusty Kid, Matchy & Bott and Seb Legrand.

Thierry Botteman and Pierre Dozin are PROPE. Between them they are veterans of the 90s dance scene who have worked with major labels like Universal as well as being ghost producers for everyone from Royksopp to Groove Armada. They’ve made drum & bass and trip hop, played live shows all over the world with names such as Robert Glasper and Fela’s Egypt80 and so have vast reserves of musical understanding on which to draw on for this new project, which “merges subtle stellar ambiance and vibes, deep harmonies, and heavy effective drops.”

Their lead track here is ‘Excite’, an intense bit of drone-heavy techno that gets you in a trance. The hunched drums are metallic in texture, the long synths take you down the rabbit hole and the closely stacked claps power things along as you slowly lose your mind. A ‘deep mix’ version gives more height and life to the drums, switching it to more of a house vibe, with stellar synths darting about up top.

Italian artist, Isolade label boss and long time underground figure Dusty Kid is the first to remix. His innovative version is a melodic affair that reaches out into the cosmos and will get hands in the air as it slowly unfolds.

Next up are Match & Bott who are no strangers to big hits. The Mainz pair have crafted plenty of them before now on labels like Hive Audio, Moonbootique and Stil Vor Talent, and here they have done so again with a moody, deep version that zones you out with hi hats and gets you moving with forceful drums.

Last of all, 1605 and Yorube Grooves techno specialist Seb Legrand keeps up the intensity with a big version filled with long, meandering synths and little fx and details. It’s another groove driven roller to lock in the whole floor.

With this release, both PROPE and OGASM prove they are on the rise.

PREMIERE: PROPE - Excite (Matchy Remix) [Ogasm]

Frank Sonic is a German producer with releases under his belt on labels such as Kittball, Traum, Beat Boutique, Sprout and Trapez to name a few. 'Bloooom' marks his Manual Music debut, and what a debut it is! 

Emotive, raw and moving are the first words that come to mind when describing this song. It's the kinda tune that will easily find it's way into both progressive house- as well as melodic techno DJ's sets. A melodic hybrid so to speak.

First up on remix duties it's rising star Daniel Rateuke who recently made his Stil Vor Talent debut. He stays close to the original melodic theme but adds a dosage of tribal drums to funk- and shake things up.

The second remix is done by our friend from Greece, Movement Recordings label head Tash. This industry veteran really needs no introduction. He slows down the phase a little with his deep- and dreamy interpretation.

Two of Australia's leading names in Melodic House & Techno join forces to create an outdoor monster in The Conqueror. The Journey and Pantheon have delivered a Floor Filler that oozes class with its groovy bass line and electrifying stabs.

As a bonus, they have added two individual tracks to round out an EP for a full-blown dance floor assault.
