For the next Bedrock release, the label turns to one of the most influential figures in dance music over the last 20 years, Darren Emerson. Underworld’s classic 1993 “Dubnobasswithmyheadman” album, “Born Slippy” on the Trainspotting movie soundtrack, unforgettable remixes for The Chemical Brothers and Björk, “Scorchio” with Sasha – these are just a few examples of key creations that have captured so many people’s imaginations.

For twenty years Darren Emerson has blazed an unrivalled trail across the electronic scene, navigating a highly successful career as a DJ, producer, remixer and label owner (Underwater and Detone). Now, fresh from a brilliant remix of Paul Rutherford’s Acid House classic “Get Real”, he makes his debut on Bedrock.

“Hot Dog” is a big-room beast that evolves from ethereal pads, heavy drums, clever percussion and crazy noises, to create a hypnotic groove that builds and develops with subtle skill until brimful with tension and bursting with energy. Darren Emerson never fails to impress.

Berlin based Florian Meindl is a multi-talented talented DJ, producer, sound designer, writer and label boss (Flash Recordings), whose productions have graced labels such as Trapez, Stil vor Talent, Herzblut and Kling Klong. Here he strips things back, brings the beats to the fore, turns up the funk factor and creates an equally hypnotic and enthralling and yet distinctly different version of “Hot Dog”.

Once again, Bedrock continues to capture the essence of why electronic dance music is such an exciting prospect right now, picking up praise and support from some of the world’s most savvy and innovative forward-thinking DJs.

Somewhere back in the mists of time, most likely involving the odd papal decree, some dodgy calculations about how long it takes the earth to do a trip round the sun, and a nerdy historian or two wanting to find a way to compartmentalise the eras they were documenting, the concept of decades and centuries entered the public consciousness.

What with folk across the ages always looking for an excuse to party, they became something to celebrate, both the longevity of the milestone attained, and the excitement about what was to follow.

In the notoriously fast-moving world of music, such longevity can be hard to find, especially in an era of short attention spans and soundbite culture. It thus only seems right and proper to hail Dave Seaman, Steve Parry and their Selador imprint for reaching its 200th release (the 200 actually encapsulates a whopping 796 tunes and mixes in total, fact fans).

To put that into some sort of context, that’s way more music than the two previous era-defining labels Dave was involved with, Stress in the 90s and Audio Therapy in the 00s, combined. The 12 years Steve has spent co-helming Selador eclipses the time he spent front and centre at the legendarily influential 3 Beat store. All this at a time when the music marketplace has never been more saturated or harder to navigate in the quest to gain visibility for music you believe in.

Steve and Dave don’t need to do this. Both well into their fourth decade in the acid house trenches, each possesses an impressive CV, and is not short of work. But nothing drives these two electronic music titans more than the search for new music, the buzz of hearing something special for the first time, and the hunger to help bring it into the world, nurture its development, and share it with as many like-minded souls as possible.
Selador has proved to be a significant player in terms of sourcing and developing new talent in the arena they dub “house, techno and all flavours in between”, as is shown across those 200 releases. It has also proved to be a trusty vehicle for Steve and Dave to release many of their own productions, the benchmark set by their peers on the label roster driving the duo to ever greater heights.

It is thus fitting that the 200th Release Project features 12 brand new and exclusive remixes courtesy of friends old and new, all of whom have reworked some of the bosses’ classic productions.

Spread across three thrilling 4 track EPs released throughout August 2025, this celebratory collection brings together an array of talent from around the world covering a multitude of genres within the Electronic Club Music realm.

In short, it’s what Selador has been doing from releases 1 to 199, with added birthday vim and vigour. Savour and enjoy.

Tronic has a 20-30 year long history with releasing melodic house and techno. While we opted for the more raw sound in the past few years, Christian wanted to go back to his roots and produce more emotive, groovy, and melodic house and techno again. Lamour Toujours is a progressive groover that has a disco-influenced bassline and adds an emotive chord progression in the break. We asked Argentinean legend Hernan Cattaneo to make a remix. As a long time supporter of Tronic we felt that he would be a great candidate for this remix. Hernan Cattaneo and Kevin Di Serna teamed up and delivered a stunning remix focusing on the melodic chord progression of the original! To finish this release, we asked Tokyo-based Frenchman Vantage to give his New Disco touch to the track. We are very proud of this release and hope you support it!

3D or not 3D, that is the question. The answer, in this particular case, is sort of. Yes, it is the 3D(ream) Team of Howells (D for Danny), Emerson (D for Darren) and Seaman (D for Dave). The three musketeers who since 2016 have harnessed their considerable talents to deliver expertly curated back to back DJ sets and finely crafted slabs of dancefloor goodness via the good ship Selador. This time around, however, its 3D squared. Whilst scrupulously observing the Rule of 6, three fellow travellers from around the globe have been invited to join our motley crew, bringing their remix expertise to the (legal, socially distanced) party. These are challenging times but music remains the best panacea. And while all three offerings here are deserving of your attention in their own right, what unites them is a mastery of soothing atmospherics, a sonic blanket to wrap around yourself. All will transport you to the dancefloors we yearn to be on right now, but each mix also doubles up as an electronic balm custom made for your headphones. First up, we return to 2018s first EP, and Daves brilliantly-titled Hired State of Unconsciousness. For remix duties, we visit France and invite the ever-popular Rodriguez Jr to pick up the baton. A naggingly insistent acidic riff is gradually enveloped by gorgeous melodies guaranteed to set you adrift on memory bliss. We then hop over the border and ask legendary German genre-straddler, Ian Pooley, to take the controls and re-work Darrens paean to pioneering New York imprint Sleeping Bag from this years trilogy-completing third EP in the series. We are rewarded with a characteristically mesmeric slice of hypnotic funktronica. For our third selection, Romanias electronic ambassador Mihai Popoviciu, a veteran of so many leading labels, takes on Dannys Shortwave, also from the third EP. Here we have a blissful builder of a mix, with an irresistible lead hook aided and abetted by numerous tectonic elements weaving in and out of the track. Time to get 3 dimensional once again.
