Partial Press Release: The 41st release on microCastle welcomes Khen to the label for his debut EP. The young Israeli artist has been touted as one of his country's foremost electronic music talents. Undoubtedly a future global star, the long-time favourite of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Guy Mantzur has risen to his greatest heights in 2015, with a recent release on Lost & Found Records, preceded by similarly excellent material for Sudbeat Music and Parquet Recordings. Now closing the year out on a high note, Khen makes his long awaited debut on microCastle with the 'Pollen Spreader' EP, alongside a remix from the always excellent Luca Bacchetti.

The EPs third selection and also its title cut 'Pollen Spreader' finds Khen exploring the more subversive, electronica realm of his studio repertoire. The classically styled analog production flows through a myriad of indistinct motifs and subtle musical themes, eventually converging for several poignant moments. For Khen it was a track constructed to begin a long set with, as he describes "The first thing that went through my mind with 'Pollen Spreader' was that it was set out to be a track to start a long main set with. I focused on 808 samples for a steady groove combined with Hammond chords, Rhodes and analogue synthesizers resulting in a timeless feel."

The lone interpretation of 'Pollen Spreader' is provided by Luca Bacchetti who is making his first appearance on microCastle. The Italian artist and Endless label boss now calls Barcelona, Spain home. His diverse musical tastes have shaped his storied career, and filled his discography with immaculate creations on All Day I Dream, Crosstown Rebels, Ovum Recordings and his own Endless imprint. Luca carries inspiration from art, architecture and his world travels, all of which contribute to his ever evolving, border-less approach to production. His elegant craftsmanship has been touching the hearts and minds of electronic music lovers for years and he's turned in a splendid rendition of 'Pollen Spreader' here. While retaining the tough, analog appeal of the original Luca has created his own unforgettable designs, which come to life following a stylized first act of jangly hooks. After stripping down, the piece flows through a tension filled section of dynamic beats and new found vocal elements, before the poignant theme is unleashed for a heavenly finale. As Luca says " When I do a remix I need to get inspired and I need to find the right elements to develop my own vision, it’s a state of mind, a place which I can’t explain beyond a certain point otherwise I empty it of its content and meaning… With these 9 minutes, I hope to bring you there! After having worked on many large commercial projects throughout 2015 with Sony Music and Universal Records, being nominated for several Juno Awards, winning the SOCAN Awards 2015 Dance Record of the Year, nominated for Sirius XM Radio Music Awards Dance Act of the Year, going Number 1 on the Billboards in 5 countries, and having a double platinum record of my own song ‘Goodbye’ feat. Islove, it was important for me to musically reach back to my underground house roots.  Getting lost in a sea of A&R’s and indecision-makers, and going through an entirely new process of commercial record writing - with session musicians, vocalists, lyricists etc. - it was the opposite world of writing that I made my records (and success) from many years ago.  I needed to take a break and get back to writing these instrumental pieces where the riffs ARE the vocal lines, and the vibe was a sort of hypnotic mysticism mixed with late night mind bending chasers. ‘Into The Deep’ is a celebration of forward thinking progressive house music - a dash of eccentric and brash synth melodies juxtaposed with bright uppity grand piano chords and warped out arpeggiations.  This is a cohesive body of music here and I wrote this all from around August of 2015 until October (around 3 months).  The first single EP from this album is called ‘Into The Deep’ and it has a very rich sound to it especially in the baseline.  I used a custom series 80 Neve console to get that wide character and the whole piece just really glued together with my mixing approach on this one.  I love the synths in the midsection and the texture to those sounds.  Perfect for late night dark room mash out venues.  On the B Side is ‘Bumblebee’ and that one is a Space Ibiza terrace early night kind of vibe - big room sound, tight percussion and groove, and huge analog synth swells. Daso Franke was born in Poona (India) and at the age of five was using the dance floor of his father’s disco as a playground, growing up with the music of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and radio pop. Now, living in Berlin, this multi-talented music producer, live act and party machine, is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in recent times on the never-ending rollercoaster ride that is the modern electronic music circus. He is now set to make his emphatic debut on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records with two stunning creations.

“Bold and Bold” with its sensuously seductive motifs, deeply hypnotic groove backbone, all hallmarked with Daso’s defining elegance and style, is perfectly suited to Bedrock’s forward-thinking creative ethos. In the same way, the energetic, yet subtle throb of “Ashvem Beach” mixes acidic undertones with ethereal beauty into a stunningly effective concoction that is both refreshing and mesmerizing.

Julian Stetter might be best known as ‘one half of the electronic pop duo VIMES’, but he is no stranger to the Cologne club scene. His debut EP ‘Insides’ stems from a long history of djing and organising underground parties across the city. A resident DJ and collaborator at Cologne’s famed JackWho club, it was these surroundings that drove Stetter to dive deep into producing. His first solo project is now set to be released on the label PNN. It features three tracks plus a remix by Beyou. Stetter’s sound is polished and the precise production of each three tracks make this EP feel far from debut. ‘Emily’ is the first track set to be released this Friday. It draws you in on shimmering waves that rise and break into a deeper and spacier sound. Warm beats are interjected with random snippets of whale song. Listening to Emily feels like receiving a welcome hug at an after party.

Tilly Jam – number one. An elegantly arranged announcement of where it’s at. A bang of a label debut, not unlike the sound of a bub bottle hitting the hull. Three times the unmistakeable message where this is heading: House, House, House! And obviously the man Till von Sein himself on the keys and knobs.
You’ll find the A side starting off rather cooled down, but as soon as von Sein keys in the bass, the groove DNA of this heart and hip warming opener is set. Filtered string-sequences, silky smooth sampling in the break and vocals that resolve even the last fraction of doubt: We are indeed in “Heaven”.
“Ambush 77” on B1 is letting go of all remaining hold backs and activates the peaktime hooter several times. A funked up trigger for loss of control on the floor, sustained by a luscious kick, a colossal bassline and percussive priming.
B2 is backing down just a little bit into understatement. After an intro of spoken words, the arrangement of “Part Of The Solution” consolidates into a groove of thick bassdrums, slightly distorted, Acid implying synths and – in contrast – tenderly installed synthie-miniatures.
