Robert Babicz is unquestionably one of the leading lights on the electronic scene, with a uniquely emotion-drenched sound that has given rise to a much-bejewelled CV. Recent highlights include his contribution of a whole CD's worth of music to John Digweed's Quattro 2 collection, another lauded album for Marc Romboy's Systematic imprint and a slew of impressive releases on his own Babiczstyle imprint.

Robert and Selador have enjoyed a long and fruitful partnership over many years. This has included single releases such as the Red/Green EP (our first ever vinyl release) , One Day We'll Be Happy and Tonefabrik; plus remixes of Paul Rutherford's evergreen Get Real, and most recently the acclaimed breaks and ambient re-rubs of Kiz Pattison & Micah's Beam of Light.

The Space Funk collection delivers three tracks of classic Babicz, and has already garnered upfront support from DJs as diverse as Sven Vath, Yousef and Doc Martin, as well as Selador's own Dave Seaman and Steve Parry.

Title track Space Funk kicks off proceedings with a lushly cinematic extended ambient intro, before beach bar beats usher in a gorgeous array of sun drenched hooks. A cosmic beauty.

Galactic Traveler is constructed with equal thought and care but takes a very different path. Breaks-driven electro stylings provide a bed for a series of memorable motifs that Robert dovetails in masterly fashion.

By way of contrast, Golden Days is the heads down dancefloor piledriver in this trio of gems. A Buzzsaw bassline and acid techno riffage are the order of the day, but this being Babicz, dreamily ethereal pads also play a key part.

Truly a master at work.

LNOE138 sees the debut of British techno renegade; Robots With No Soul. 
Don't be fooled by robotic motifs – RWNS is an electronic battle cry for authenticity. There is no boxing, packaging and mass-producing his off-kilter drum beats, raging basslines and emotive melodies. Ben (RWNS) earlier caught the attention of the distinctive techno duo Dense & Pika releasing his debut album ‘Rose’ on their acclaimed Kneaded Pains label in 2020. 

The ‘Sedona Circle’ EP includes three originals and a special remix on ‘Morning Glory’ by Eats Everything, the UK dance legend who is currently celebrating the tenth anniversary of his career. 

The release is filled with moments of pure clubbing bliss, from the euphoric undertones on the title track ‘Sedona Circle’ to the enigmatic structures supporting ‘Morning Glory’. The latter also got reinterpreted by Eats Everything on his ’10 Years of Eats Everything Remix’, stripping the composition down to its bones and transforming the track into one of his groovy club weapons that we all know him for. 

Ben (RWNS) comments; “The title track “Sedona Circle” is the product of a particular self healing journey I went on earlier this year. I participated in a 21 day ‘raise your vibration’ challenge where myself and others went on a guided mediation journey and were spiritually transported to a rock in Sedona, California. We were asked to combine all of our energy to try and create something magical and profoundly beautiful. During this process all I could hear was this euphoric music in my head. It was an incredible experience which culminated in the making of this track. 

It’s a real pleasure to have Eats Everything join me on this EP showcasing his trademark sound. I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing all of his achievements over this past decade, I’m very proud of him. It’s an honour to share this special moment with him on this release. Here’s to another ten years! Also special thanks go out to Sasha for all of his support. It means absolutely everything to me. “

Robots With No Soul’s first single ‘Sedona Circle’ will be out on the 12th of November, following up with his full debut EP on the 19th of November  - available across all digital platforms.

We’re kicking off the new year with the second installment of our series - LNOE Introducing, where we welcome new talent and upcoming producers to the label for the first time. Over the next weeks we’ll be featuring four new artists who have each contributed an exclusive single, ahead of the compiled EP coming out on February 18th.

The first single in this series is being presented by DJ P. The London resident has been consistently pushing his sound over the years, being the architectural mastermind behind 2 outstanding UK labels, TT and All Centre while hosting a monthly radio show on NTS. His debut single on LNOE ’Too Sincere’ shows off the warped world of DJ Pitch with a definite club weapon. The masterfully crafted song-structure and sound selection showcased on his single forms the perfect piece to start off the second instalment of our Introducing Series.

Stelios Vassiloudis announces the release of his eclectic sophomore LP 'All Else Fails' with lead single, ‘End Transmission’.

Hailing from Athens, Greece, Stelios Vassiloudis poses a triple threat as a composer, producer and DJ. Having been active in the electronic music scene since the early 2000s he has cultivated his own brand of distinctive ambience reflective of his rich and diverse musical background; transcending the dance floor via an emotional narrative of complex soundscapes, intricate harmonies and hypnotic rhythms.

‘End Transmission’ was the first track on the upcoming album to be completed. After Stelios sought reclusion in his studio during the pandemic, he was met with a 64-bar loop of ambient drones and harmonic washes after wading through folder upon folder of previously created projects, in search of something different. Rather “generic” at the time, Stelios made deliberate adjustments including ⅞ time signature changes impacting the phrasing and rhythmic patterns, and ensured plenty of time was set aside to revel in all of the magical unpredictability when recording with live instruments. 

The release is accompanied by an extra ‘Sweet Sunny’ remix by iconic electronic producer John Beltran that will feature on the album’s limited edition.  Stelios has also created a further dub variation of the track.

LNOE is closing off the year with another collaboration from Sasha, this time alongside rising star Franky Wah. This release gives a taste of the musical ties between the two and paints a unique picture across the 4-track EP. Franky Wah has been making a name for himself releasing on labels such as Afterlife and Ministry Of Sound amongst others.

‘Haunted’ the title track shows instantly that the combination of these two artists is certainly not a gimmick and sets the tone for the release. Franky commenting on their collaboration says: "Sasha has played a huge part in putting me on the map by supporting my music, so it’s an honour to be able to collaborate on this project with an artist that I’ve always looked up to. This EP is a perfect amalgamation of both of our sounds and I’m really proud to get this one out.”

The raw break-beats drum sounds which we all know and love, paired with modern melodic synthesizer work and dreamy vocals make up the recipe for this standout record. The sonic character oscillates between these energetic grooves and dreamlike states. The release will feature four original collabs, all defining another perspective on the sound between Sasha and Franky.

My passion for house music started from an early age from first having vinyl decks as a teenager in the late 90s. Have always loved the progressive house genre from aspiring djs such as the likes of sasha, Digweed, Anthony papa, dave seaman and quivver. Have recently started djing again in the new era of digital which has took some getting used to, and no I don't use the sync button which you can probly tell sometimes in my sets 😂😂 anyhow
