Let’s set the scene: we’re in Queens, in Sofia’s apartment. Their orange tabby, Cairo on our laps. My last day in the city before flying home.
Earlier in the week we heard Robyn’s version come on at a lesbian bar. Sofia, Z and I immediately started singing along in a 3 part harmony. 
The photo is from a night after Sofia’s shift at a Birdland, the jazz bar she was working at. We had seen John Coltrane’s son perform there earlier in the week.
