One year after the critically acclaimed debut album ‘Okay’, Wy reveals bold new single ‘Pavements’. It marks a new turn in the eclectic duo’s sound while still maintaining the emotion and unapologetic lyricism that distinguishes their style.

With the release of their debut album 'Okay' last year, Swedish duo Wy became something of an underground sensation, garnering the highest praise with comparisons to Slowdive, Cigarettes After Sex and Mazzy Star. Today they have shared the first taster of new material since; the gritty, bold and electric 'Pavements'. The song marks a clear sonic progression for the band, whilst maintaining their clarity in emotion and unapologetic lyricism ("My depression is a weapon") that stands them apart from their peers. Listen via the link below, and watch the accompanying video clip staring vocalist/front woman Ebba, which was directed by Wy themselves.
  
On the concept behind the video, Ebba explains: "While recording the studio version of the song our friend Joar told me that it sounded like someone punching. I immediately saw myself boxing in the air to it and so we made it the video. When we recorded the footage I tried to mimic how I moved and felt while recording the vocals. I think the act of boxing captures the feeling of the song perfectly, especially when I can’t really box. There is a weirdness to it that I like.”
  
Wy are longtime lovers Ebba and Michel, from Malmö in Sweden. After several years of playing in bands together, they formed this musical incarnation in 2015 and soon released their debut EP 'Never Was' (2016). Their 10-track LP 'Okay' (2018), saw them win fans at international tastemaker titles The Line of Best Fit, NYLON, C-Heads, KALTBLUT,  
NBHAP and The Revue, and has paved the way for breaking new ground and universal recognition in 2019.
