The Rose Marie was formed in the 2006 at the University of Iowa. 

Disc 3: Part Two- & The Baby's Wail v.1 includes stories regarding the loss of a friend and saying goodbye to the memories.  Life can be short and it is full of beauty.  It is the duty of friends to put a vibrant soul to rest….

Disc 3: Part One - The Trap Sprung was written and recorded during a weekend in Lanesboro, Minnesota.  The sounds that you will hear are acoustic instruments supported by campground birds and people.  The locals were supportive and enthusiastic about The Rose Marie's productions.  The tales that you will hear include local folklore and nature's soundtrack.  "Don't let the Root River grab you."

Disc 2: River Bandits & The Bad Burp was written and produced within 24 hours.  The Rose Marie used only acoustic guitars to make this album.  The stories that you will hear are about a man's adventures, life, fun stories and exaggerated tales.  Enjoy the musical acoustic rock opera.

This is a story about a squire and his knight, where Aaron was Don Quixote and Will was Sancho Panza. As years passed, they got around town and ran the bases. These songs were creating in apartments, dorm rooms, and stairwells. These are our diaries...

OKeh short history: 

OKeh was founded by Otto K. E. Heinemann when he set up his own recording studio and gramophone record pressing plant in New York City in September 1918. Heinemann formed the name of the record label "OKeh", from his initials.  OKeh began by issuing popular songs, dance numbers, and vaudeville skits similar to the fare of other labels, but Heineman also wished to experiment with music for audiences neglected by the larger record companies. OKeh produced lines of recordings in German, Czech, Polish, Swedish, and Yiddish for the USA's immigrant communities. In 1920, Ralph Peer's recordings by African-American blues singer Mamie Smith were a surprise smash hit for Okeh. The company perceived the significant, little-tapped market for blues and jazz by African American artists. Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Bix Beiderbecke are only a few names of jazz greats that have recorded for the label. By 1926 Columbia Records bought the label and kept it running into the 60's with jazz and R&B recordings. 

In 1994, Sony Music reactivated the OKeh label as a new-age Blues label. Okeh's first new signings included Keb' Mo, Popa Chubby, and Little Axe. By 2000, the Okeh label was again retired, but in 2013 it will see its re-launch as a jazz label once again.

The California based “adventure folk” quartet, The Manx, fused together in 2010 when Tommy Meehan (banjo), Myke Chilian (accordion), and Adam Barnes (double bass) met while playing the Los Angeles underground circuit in slightly harsher ensembles. Their shared love for metal, noise music, and tacos bonded them immediately, and the idea of forming a band of their own became imminent. Abandoning their electric instruments and adopting an earthier/more traditional tone, they recruited Zach Zdziebko for mandolin duties and started writing and recording their own blend of folk core.

Titillating tales of madness and murder wail violently through The Manx’s gritty meat whistles. The band blazes through progressions and melodies with a fury previously unbeknownst to the forests of folk music.
