Illich Mujica is a Venezuelan-born, New York City-bred DJ who plays uplifting melodic tunes blended with dark and mysterious beats. The second coming of Sunset Town and as usual I had my chance to provide the Sunday Sunset soundtrack just as I do at the Australian Burn. This time it was a much longer slot so I took the chance to take everyone on a journey from the sunshine into the night. 
I especially dedicate this set in particular to my extremely hard working team at Sunset. This was our moment to let our hair down after an intense build and event and being able to let fly on our Shack's sound system was again an intense personal pleasure.

"It’s 2022. We are back on playa after the pandemic break. With us, Mayan Warrior in its natural habitat. 
 
We ride out in the middle of a dust storm, along with my chosen 100 tracks. The selection is inspired by what Mayan Warrior means to me. It represents the fusion between contemporary art and tradition. Crazy lasers over the handcrafted god’s eye. Unmatched sound coming from a millenary Mayan figure. A representation of what makes Mexico such a special place.

It’s a mix of old tracks I love and unreleased music from some of my favorite artists. A lot of it from Mexican artists and labels. As I am about to start, I see dozens of bikes powering through the storm. I trash my original plan on song 2 as I try to capture the moment. Eventually, a beautiful sunset emerges. This is my set on top of the Mayan Warrior.
