The galaxy burst into life as the spaceship careered between exploding stars and flying comets. Out here in the depths of space there was little daylight and all that surrounded their tiny rocket was a dense foggy black but for the occasional sporadic boom and a flash. Noise echoed all around, a drone like sound which shook your insides to the very core, it was sickening yet strangely pleasant to feel so at odds with ones self amidst chaotic circumstances. This was living, this was life. That which lay back down there was not a comparison to the wild and wonderful experiences that you might find when dancing between the stars on a cosmic exploration...

Nigm appears on a new release titled "Crysta Ampullaris". The split EP is forthcoming and will be released by La Forge collective: the record itself is a top tier showcase of broody electronics and pensive dancefloor groovers.

Eliza Krakówka, associated with such initiatives as: Lezbend, DetroitZdrój !, Women Pistolety or Luz Maryja, was actively building the club scene in Poland. As the promoter of the Amoeba Agency she organized events all over the country including: the oldest house party Love Bomb as well as series of events: "LS Dym", "Audio Trash", "Alfa Beta Cocktail", "W Festival" on the Sopot Pier, "Isle of MTV". During that time she invited such artists as: Massive Attack, Morcheeba, DJ Assault, Bjork, Telepopmusik, Peaches, Stereo MC's and many others. She made her DJ debut in 2001. In 2002 together with her friends she founded the first female DJ trio in Poland - Lezbend. They together organised Hot Chili and Lez Dance club nights. In 2003 Lezbend signed a three-year contract with an American booking agency, which resulted in a tour around the USA. A year later they played at the Diesel-U-Music festival in Amsterdam. In 2005 Lezbend won the "DJ of the Year" award by New Warsaw Express. From 2006 she was the artistic manager of club 55 in Warsaw at the Palace of Culture and Science, where she received the award for the best club in 2007 and 2008 twice in a row. She was the co-founder of detroitZDRóJ! a collective which (together with bshosa and dr Dip) organised parties bringing together excellent artists from all over the world. On a local scale she was also busy with organising music festivals such as: Urban Market, Kobiety Pistolety, Urban Picnic. She spent 2017 and 2018 working at the Warsaw Dance Department, where she developed her fascination with body movement and music. In the meantime she became a meditation teacher as well. Together with Aga Kozak she co-creates the "Musical Body" workshop which aims to perceive music and body in a more conscious way. The workshop had its premiere at the Unsound and Audioriver festivals. Eliza is also involved in Radio Kapitał's activities where she has been running two radio shows for over a year - Muzyczne Ciała and Wieloświat. She also took part in the book project "30 years of the techno scene" which is going to be published soon in the publishing house "Krytyka Polityczna". Eliza works as a professional photographer and is the mother of two daughters.

My name is Taylor and my preferred pronouns are they and she. I live in Brooklyn! Fun fact about myself… I used to teach hip hop dance in the early 2000’s. 

How is everything going with you right now?

It’s going pretty well despite the circumstances, which of course are not ideal. Been navigating a lot of personal challenges lately, from a break-up to family drama, but strangely I feel ok, like all is looking up….something in my attitude has shifted

What are you missing from pre-covid life?

Dancing. With people. More than anything.

Any fun goals for winter time?

3rd installment of Dance Floor Epiphanies for Resident Advisor is happening, and I also have an ambient release coming out for the boutique cassette label, Enmossed. And I want to finish my memoir! (maybe it will actually happen this time). 

Who currently inspires you music-wise?
ASC (always). Europa. Ma Sha Ru. May Vary. Abby Echiverri. E.C.C.O. Pugilist. Air Max ‘97. Eris Drew and Octo Octa. Datach’i. H.E.R. Noumen. And I’ve been kind of obsessed with heavy bass music lately like Ternion Sound and TMSV. those lower chakra vibes

Favorite weird drug experience?

The very first time I took acid I accidentally took too much and merged with the soul of another human until we no longer could distinguish ourselves from one another. I saw his third eye blinking on his forehead, as real as an actual eye, and then we became telepathic, and then we astral projected as one entity into the godhead. It was cool.

Why do you think it's important to share music?

I believe it’s the most unifying force in the world. It’s the most human language, and gives us access to our emotions in a way that brings joy. And it connects us beyond the mind… it connects us through the body, and through the heart. 

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

Cohesion & Unification. A return to how things used to be, without trying to emulate the past too much. Meaning, a sense of PLUR that permeates not only the dance floor but the social spaces, online and physical.
